The Cody Kilgore Unified School, a Schoolwide Title 1 District, serving approximately 185 PreK-12th grade students, is located in North Central NE with a sparsely populated constituency yet covering one of the largest geographic areas among NE Class II Districts. Our district provides regular transportation services for students that cover a 312 mile round trip in a 553 square mile area. Our staff

is 100% NCLB Qualified and APL trained. We have received an Entrepreneurship and Incubator Business Grant with the Village of Cody. This enhances our Career Education curriculum by providing real world experiences. Expanded Distance Learning and Dual Credit classes are helping us provide more curriculum offerings.

Angela Anderson was recognized at the American Legion convention in Columbus NE on June 27th, 2026, for Middle School teacher of the year Awards.
The Nebraska American Legion Teacher of the year program serves to recognize dedicated and devoted individuals who, on a constant basis give so much of themselves on behalf of the youth of Nebraska. Teachers are the unsung heroes who build our nation's future by working with the youth today. The Department of Nebraska Americanism Committee believes the Teacher of the year program will serve to strengthen the bond that exists between the American Legion, the schools of Nebraska and the administrators and educators of these schools. To be eligible for this annual award, nominees must meet the following criteria. Accomplishments of the teacher must be over and above his or her profession. Consideration will be given to someone whose Activities in the field of education was in excess of what would be expected in that field and who promotes American Legion Youth Programs. Be an accredited elementary school, middle school or high school teacher and can be a veteran or non-veteran, legionnaire or non- legionnaire. An American Legion Post must endorse candidates for the teacher of the year award. The winners will be selected by a majority vote within the Department's Americanism Committee and are honored at the Department Convention each year in June. Angela Anderson was endorsed for this honor by Cody American Legion Post 319 Located in Cody NE.

Conditioning for HS VB & FB is Aug 3–7! All Times are Mountain

Mon, Aug 3: Free Walk-In Physicals at Cherry Co. Clinic (1:30–3:30 PM). Joint Conditioning: 6:30–8:00 PM.

Tue, Aug 4 – Thu, Aug 6: VB Conditioning: 7:00–8:00 AM | FB Conditioning: 6:30–7:30 PM

Fri, Aug 7: VB Conditioning: 7:00–8:00 AM

⚠️ REQUIREMENTS: Athletes MUST have a completed physical and SWAY testing to participate. SWAY testing will be completed during conditioning sessions.
