Hip hop is a completely different way to move your body and isn’t anything like ballet. Today our young RMSA hip hoppers first class of the year started with learning how to isolate movements starting with their heads and core upper body. Isolating body parts, rhythm, and coordination is harder than you think! Registration is still open and a few spots remain!

Rocky Mountain School of the Arts 29th school year of dance and music begins next week! It’s not too late for new students to register online. We are a classical studio that focuses on technique and terminology in structured class settings for ages 3 through adult. We don’t compete, we perform offering one-of-a-kind performing, experiences, and opportunities in theatre, musical theatre, and dance right here in Cody, Wyoming.

Repost: Wild West Spectacular How many kids and preteens can say they have performed in a professional musical production, not to mention all from a small town and in Wyoming? This group of 13 can! “Wild West Spectacular the Musical” is produced by 501c3 Rocky Mountain Dance Theatre which is affiliated with local classical dance & music studio, Rocky Mountain School of the Arts in Cody, Wyoming. This affiliation provides many opportunities and experiences just for RMSA students, like performing in this professional production. A round of applause 👏 for a job well done to these young performers. Rocky Mountain Sch/DanceTheatr does have open enrollment for the upcoming 2026-2027 school year in Cody, Wyoming. Rocky Mountain School of the Arts has a few weeks yet till our 29th school year of teaching in our state-of-the-art studio in Cody, Wyoming begins. Registration is still open, classes are filling up, and waitlists are beginning.

⭐️ We are a classical studio focused on foundations, terminology, and technical training for Ages 3-Adult in dance and music.
⭐️ We don’t compete but perform locally and being affiliated with 501c3 Rocky Mountain Dance Theatre; our students have one-of-a-kind opportunities to participate in and experience professional dance, theatre, and musical theatre productions. Rocky Mountain Sch/DanceTheatr

Home again, home again jiggity jig…. and with that our 2026 RMDT New York Experience Trip has come to a close. It was a long day of travel but thankfully, no travel issues 😅. The gang flew into Billings around midnight New York time and still had to drive to Cody to sleep in their own beds. 😴 What an amazing group we had and trip it was; always hard to leave NYC. We are already looking forward to the next in summer 2028! Again special shout out of thanks to RMDT donors and sponsors who help to off set some of the cost of this wonderful trip for rural town Wyoming dancers.

Day 5 in New York for RMDT’s New York Dance Experience was full of fun! Dancers, Miss Liz, and Miss Brittany were able to schedule dance classes at Broadway Dance Center to makeup for classes missed on Tuesday due to cancelled flights. After a morning of great classes, it was off on a one hour subway ride to Coney Island and Luna Park in Coney Island. Everyone had a blast riding the rides, even the adults got into the fun. Some even braved the sling shot! The evening brought rain but that didn’t stop a few brave ones from going on one last ride. Another day of memories on the books.
