Every X-ray student standing next to you is going to be someone's coworker in a year or two.
Maybe even YOURS!
That idea came up in my new Rad Tech Life Podcast episode with Justice Talbot, an X-ray Program Director and the winner of the ARRT® 2026 “I Am the Gold Standard” Educator Award.
Justice believes clinicals should be the safest place a student will ever get to fail.
Why?
Because right now, they have YOU to shape them.
So instead of teaching students to stand in the corner until they’re sure they can get it right, what if we taught them:
1. To try without any pressure...
2. To think critically...
3. To make mistakes (without making an exposure), learn from those mistakes, and try again?
We also talk about getting rid of the “eat your young” mentality and what technologists can do to help create the kind of coworkers we actually WANT to work with.
If you work with X-ray students, I think you’ll enjoy this one 😉
