This past weekend Drs Natalia Cardona, Eric Krznaric and Jason Spector attended the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons’ 77th Annual Scientific Conference in New Orleans. This is an excellent conference where nearly 2,000 Doctors of Podiatric medicine from all over the country gather to network and learn about new research, practice management and surgical techniques from some of the best and brightest in our profession. Dr Alan MacGill was asked to present lectures on three topics during the conference: Dealing with the shortened first ray in Lapidus arthrodesis, Other soft tissue causes of heel pain and Evaluation and treatment of Equinus.

Congratulations to Drs. Jason Spector, Eric Krznaric, Natalia Cardona, Kris Jerry and Program Director Alan MacGill on the acceptance of their two research posters at this year's Symposium on Advanced Wound Care (SAWC) being held in San Antonio this May. The SAWC is one of the largest wound care conferences in the country and connects physicians, nurses, physical therapists, researchers, scientists, podiatrists, and dietitians with the foremost experts in wound care to improve patient outcomes through education. Additionally, Dr. Jason Spector was selected by the American Podiatric Medical Association as their SAWC "Wound Care Podiatrist Scholarship" winner!

Tonight we were happy to participate in the South Florida Grands Rounds. Created by Drs. Adam Ringler and Aly Slater of Palmetto General Hospital, this forum brings podiatric surgery residents and attending physicians together from many South Florida programs. We’re not surprised Dr Alan MacGill was chosen as the keynote speaker for this year’s BUSPM White Coat ceremony. We’re very lucky to have him as our program director, as his passion and dedication for the profession is unmatched and inspires us everyday.

Congratulations to our very own Dr. Alan MacGill, who was invited as keynote speaker to Barry University. Due to his distinguished leadership role in the podiatric community, he was invited to speak at Barry University School of Podiatric Medicine Rite of Passage ceremony on Friday, August 31.
