“A Prayer from a Dog Who Loves His Veteran”
— A humble plea for mercy and help

Dear Lord…
I am only a dog,
but You know my heart better than anyone.
You know how deeply I love the man You placed beside me —
the veteran who holds me when the nights get long
and the memories get loud.

You’ve seen him struggle.
You’ve seen him fight battles long after the war ended.
And You’ve seen me stay by his side,
doing my best to bring him peace
in the only ways I know how.

But now, God…
I am the one who is hurting.
My body is failing,
and I see the fear in his eyes
every time I stumble or cry out in pain.

He tries to be strong for me,
but I know the truth:
I am all he has left.
And he is terrified of losing me.

The humans say it will cost $700–$800
just to learn what’s wrong inside me.
And if he cannot pay…
they may take me from him forever.

Please, Lord…
don’t let that happen.
Not to him.
Not after everything he has already survived.

He works 10–12 hours a day
just for a place to sleep.
He lives on $100 a week,
and still spends $20–$25 to feed me first.
He gives me everything he can —
and now he needs help he cannot give himself.

So I pray…
for kindness,
for mercy,
for someone with a gentle heart
to hear this plea.

A local veteran — a man who served this country with everything he had — is about to lose the only companion he has left in this world: his dog.

This dog is his family. His stability. His emotional lifeline. The one soul who has stayed by his side through every dark moment.

But now the dog is very sick… and the cost just to diagnose the problem is $700–$800, not including treatment. If he can’t pay, the vet legally can put the dog to sleep.
