We also completed Phase One of dojo clean-up in preparation for the Celebrating Aikido Seminar on June 27th. We thank our dedicated and hard working members.

Our connection to the past shines through to the present. Aikido pioneers George Wilson, Doc Walker, Yoshimitsu Yamada, Koichi Tohei, gave us foundations that have led to 57 years of continuous practice at Sand Drift Aikido Dojo. This photo, from our archives, is from Titusville, Florida, in the mid 1960’s. We’ll honor their gifts to us with a day of training and fellowship at the Celebrating Aikido Seminar at our Dojo on Saturday, June 27th. hope to see you there!

She serves on the Technical Committee of the United States Aikido Federation, is Co-Chief Instructor of Florida Aikikai, and is one of the most senior female teachers in the United States. Gorman Miller has been promoted to 5th Dan and received his certificate from Randy Beck Sensei at the Sand Drift Aikido Martial Arts Center. His promotion came by recommendation from the United States Aikido Federation and certified by the International Aikido Federation in Tokyo, Japan. Our congratulations for the recognition of his many years of training and teaching and his dedication to the Art.

Gorman Miller has been promoted to 5th Dan, an honor bestowed by the United States Aikido Federation. This prestigious promotion was formally announced at the annual Kagamibiraki Ceremony held at Aikikai Hombu Dojo in Tokyo, Japan.
Miller Sensei has been a dedicated member and instructor at Sand Drift Aikido Martial Arts Center since the 1980s. We appreciate his decades of commitment and his ongoing efforts to expand both the knowledge and practice of the art of Aikido.
