🏀 BSN ONE-ON-ONE: BCSO ENFORCER BASKETBALL & COCOA GIRLS HEAD COACH LORENZO “LOLLY” HUTCHINSON TONIGHT AT 8:30 P.M. ON BSN FACEBOOK & YOUTUBE
Few people in Brevard County have impacted their community through basketball quite like Lorenzo “Lolly” Hutchinson.
Tonight at 8:30 p.m., BSN sits down with the Cocoa Tigers girls basketball head coach, Brevard County Sheriff’s Office veteran, Harlem Globetrotter alumnus, and community leader for a conversation that goes beyond the game.
Most fans know Hutchinson as one of the area’s most recognizable basketball personalities, but his journey is truly remarkable.
A standout at Jupiter High School, Hutchinson continued his career at Brevard Community College before transferring to Morgan State University, where he competed at the NCAA Division I level while earning his degree.
His incredible ball-handling skills and personality eventually landed him a spot with the world-famous Harlem Globetrotters, taking him around the globe entertaining millions while sharing the game he loves.
But his greatest impact has come right here at home.
For the past two decades, Hutchinson has served with the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office and has dedicated more than 25 years to public service. Along the way, he has earned numerous honors, including Correction Deputy of the Year, the Lucy Ross Award, the Distinguished Merit Award, and induction into the Space Coast Public Service Hall of Fame.
He is also the founder of UBBL — Using Basketball to Better Lives — a nonprofit organization that uses the game to mentor young people and strengthen relationships between law enforcement and the community.
Now entering his second year leading the Cocoa Tigers girls basketball program, Hutchinson continues to inspire the next generation both on and off the court.
We’ll discuss his incredible basketball journey, his years with the Harlem Globetrotters, coaching the Tigers, serving the community through the Sheriff’s Office, and his passion for mentoring young athletes.
And there’s another reason to tune in.
On Saturday , June 20, Hutchinson will lace up his sneakers as a member of the BCSO Enforcers when they take on the world-famous Court Kingz at Heritage High School.
The Court Kingz have amassed more than 500 million online views and captured ESPN’s Play of the Year while becoming one of the premier basketball entertainment tours in America.
Standing in their way will be the BCSO Enforcers — a team made up of local law enforcement officers, corrections deputies, and first responders led by longtime coach Greg Buttrick.
The event promises incredible basketball, family entertainment, and a celebration of community unlike anything else on the Space Coast.
