Many thanks to our Cocoa Police Department CSI team and Detectives Fogu and Bell (former Cocoa SRO’s!) for visiting our Forensic Science class today to share career pathways, education and training, and get some hands on experience with fingerprinting. Millage allows Brevard Public Schools to provide teacher salaries that remain competitive with surrounding counties and reflects our commitment to investing in fair, competitive teacher pay.

This is not a new tax. The millage is a renewal of an existing local funding source that helps support teacher salaries and school operations throughout Brevard County.

A portion of millage revenue is dedicated to supporting teacher compensation, helping fund the educators who teach and support students across our district.

Millage is one of the local funding sources that helps Brevard Public Schools invest in its workforce and continue supporting classrooms throughout the county.

Surtax funding strengthens school safety by providing the physical security tools schools rely on every day.

This is not a new tax. The Sales Surtax is a renewal of the existing half-cent sales tax that helps fund safe, maintained, and modern school facilities.

One example is OpenGate weapons detection. Funded by the Surtax, OpenGate is currently installed at every high school in Brevard Public Schools.

Systems like these create safer entrances and allow for faster threat detection while helping schools maintain an efficient arrival process for students.

Surtax ensures Brevard Public Schools can continue investing in security measures that help protect students and staff.

IT’S TODAY!! We can’t wait to welcome our Tiger families to our Title I Annual Meeting and Open House event! The Annual Meeting is from 5:30-6 in the auditorium. You will learn about the many resources we have available for your student’s learning needs. At 6 pm our teachers will welcome you in their classrooms for 15 min rotations through your child’s schedule. We will end promptly at 8 pm.

Due to a BPS internet outage, a Focus reminder message can’t be sent. Please help share the good word!

Due to the wet field and more rain in the forecast, today’s workouts are postponed. We’ll meet tomorrow, Wednesday, in the weight room at 4 PM. Middle schoolers get to the weight room when you can. Please remember that athletic clearance is required to participate. Stay safe, and we’ll see you tomorrow!
