The 2nd Annual Kepler Conference
Evidence-Based Research Astrology Conference,
Jan. 25 - 28, 2018 The response to that call was swift, and heartening.
If you are committed to the future of astrology, or maybe a bit concerned about it, then you will understand why we are so pleased to announce the 1st Annual Kepler Conference; a ground-breaking program of evidence-based astrology, research results, and multidisciplinary professional applications. The inaugural Kepler Conference will take place in January, 2017, at an oceanfront resort on Florida’
s beautiful Space Coast and represents both a labor of love, and a visionary step forward. The Kepler Conference arose out of a meeting in June, 2015, at Cosmic Patterns Software in Gainesville, FL, when Courtney Roberts and David Cochrane realized they both harbored a similar dream. Both longed for an annual research conference, to deliberately cultivate the growing body of research results. In that instant, the Kepler Conference was born, and the call went out. Passionate researchers from around the globe recognize that the time is now. An impressive array of talent stepped up and joined in the common goal: to gather the far-flung research community together annually to share their most promising work, facilitate replication and peer-review, publish and promote the proceedings, encourage broader professional applications, and regularly reconvene to keep upgrading the process. By adhering to the same high standards required by every other professional field, we can all develop astrology research, products and services that no one can afford not to use. At the same time, we’re on a mission to make research fun! We’re going to have to, because as it is, research just puts people to sleep. Holding the Kepler Conference in Florida in the winter, at a beach resort with all the amenities, should help. That Space Coast location is not accidental either, but part of a broader vision of inroads and integration, on the brink of the mission to Mars. Still, heated swimming pools, romantic walks on the beach, and insider tours of the Space Center are not enough. Researchers must do a better job of communicating. We aim to put a very human face on research, and to go the extra mile to inspire more interest and enthusiasm. For instance, the Kepler Conference kicks off with an ‘Introduction to Research Astrology’ class, to help even the rawest recruits better participate in, and contribute to the conference program. Plus, the Kepler Conference online research forums run year-round and are free for conference registrants. We’ve all been to boring conferences where some esteemed speaker drones on interminably; while we squirm in our seats, long past our natural attention span. The ensuing Q&A can be even more alienating. Not at the Kepler Conference! Our speakers will present their material in engaging, bite-sized chunks, with an emphasis on interaction; encouraging participants to learn and share with each other. That’s the future of education, and we’re seizing the opportunity at the Kepler Conference to make research astrology accessible, relevant, and exciting for everyone. So please visit our website, www.thekeplerconference.com to learn more, and we hope to see you on the beach in Florida in January, 2017.
