Millage allows Brevard Public Schools to provide teacher salaries that remain competitive with surrounding counties and reflects our commitment to investing in fair, competitive teacher pay.

This is not a new tax. The millage is a renewal of an existing local funding source that helps support teacher salaries and school operations throughout Brevard County.

A portion of millage revenue is dedicated to supporting teacher compensation, helping fund the educators who teach and support students across our district.

Millage is one of the local funding sources that helps Brevard Public Schools invest in its workforce and continue supporting classrooms throughout the county.

Surtax funding supports a range of physical security improvements across Brevard Public Schools. This is not a new tax. The Sales Surtax is a renewal of the existing half-cent sales tax that helps fund safe, maintained, and modern school facilities.

These investments include secure single-point entry, upgraded locks and gates, reinforced front office safety features, expanded security camera coverage, and modern emergency alert systems.

Every visitor entering a school is directed through the front office for check-in, helping schools monitor access and maintain secure learning environments.

These upgrades create safer entrances, give schools greater visibility across the property, and make it possible to respond quickly in an emergency.

Surtax helps ensure schools have the safety infrastructure needed to help protect students and staff.

Our second group of 4th graders spent an amazing day at Lagoon Quest! A huge thank you to our awesome chaperones for helping throughout the day and keeping our students safe, especially when the weather unexpectedly changed.

Our 4th graders had a blast, and we are so grateful to the Brevard Zoo for a wonderful field trip experience!

𝐓𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐍𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫, 𝐭𝐰𝐨 𝐥𝐨𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐟𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐦𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐮𝐫𝐞𝐬 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐨𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐛𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐨𝐭. Neither are new. Both are already in place.

Earlier this week we shared about the Sales Surtax.

The second measure on November's ballot is the 𝐌𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐚𝐠𝐞 — a property tax renewal that funds the teachers, programs, and technology that make learning happen every day in Brevard County classrooms.

Millage is the small portion of property taxes that stays right here in Brevard County, locally approved by voters to directly support Brevard Public Schools. Every dollar collected goes to the people and programs inside our schools.

Millage funds three things: 𝐞𝐦𝐩𝐥𝐨𝐲𝐞𝐞 𝐩𝐚𝐲, 𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐦𝐬, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐜𝐥𝐚𝐬𝐬𝐫𝐨𝐨𝐦 𝐭𝐞𝐜𝐡𝐧𝐨𝐥𝐨𝐠𝐲.

We had such a great time at our first House Rally of the school year. Our focus was on Bravery! We had some brave teachers participate in a friendly competition!! It was great to bring our entire school community together.
