The boys are four months! While mama is at work, Bumblebee, Dragonfly and Sweet Pea are busy doing their work as well!

~Bumblebee and Dragonfly's wake window is becoming longer so they keep busy with baby stretches, tummy time and have enjoyed kicking at objects above them.

~Sweet Pea is busy this week focusing on the letter A and the color red. She also practiced stacking blocks and her scissor skills.

We are lucky to have several great nature centers near us! They are an excellent resource to introduce your Littles to nature play if you are hesitant. Most are staffed with trained Educators that are happy to share their love of nature!

Child directed play in the park!!Sweet Pea found some plastic eggs. She used them to stamp circles in the mud and poked sticks in the middle of each circle. Through exploration she eventually discovered she could balance the eggs on the sticks. It took many tries to get the sticks straight enough for the eggs to balance.
During child directed play and exploration, Littles should be given time, space and freedom to interact with the materials the way they see fit (unless safety is of concern).

We try to do something different on a rainy day to pass the time. On this particular rainy day we played with "iggily wiggily" (cooked spaghetti noodles). They each got to choose a paint color as well as 2 small toys. A play opportunity does not need to make sense to you, but through a child's eyes the dinosaurs were trudging through the mud and hiding under the grass! Don't be afraid to mix and match sensory mediums.
