✨Employee of the Month✨

It’s everyone’s favorite time of the month!!!

Introducing…. drum roll please….. LILY!!!!

Aka Adorned, Aka Lily Bug, Aka Willers, Aka Bug, Aka W***y Bug, Aka Perfect Baby Princess Angel!

Lily is perfect. She is the perfect balance of cool, calm, and collected under saddle. She is steady, patient, and has a wonderful way of making her riders feel comfortable and confident.

Lily was given to the program 3 years ago and was the definition of an arena princess. She does NOT do dirt. Or mud. Or sand. Lily prefers a prim and proper lifestyle, thank you very much.

The funny part? Take her out on the trails and suddenly Miss Princess has a few opinions.
She can be a little more unsure of herself outside of the arena, which is what makes her an incredible teacher for her riders.

Currently, Lily is enjoying an easy life with her two kids, helping them build the confidence they need to become strong riders both in and out of the ring.

She’s teaching them that confidence doesn’t mean never being nervous. It means learning how to work through those moments, trust your horse, trust yourself, and keep moving forward.

She may prefer her arena freshly groomed and her feet completely free of dirt, but she has a huge heart and so much patience for her riders.

We are incredibly lucky to have this sweet girl as part of our program and even luckier to watch the relationship she’s building with her two kids.

✨Employee of the Month✨

We have been hiding something from everyone... This handsome little fella is Ford! aka little man!

Ford was as much of a surprise to you as he was to us!

You might remember Deja from last months employee of the month... well she gave us this sweet little boy!

We noticed she was showing signs of pregnancy and decided to go get everything ready for the chance she was... and out came Ford!

Unfortunately Deja had some strong feelings about loosing her independent women status and decided we were better suited to take care of Ford as she had no complaints with us before.

Ford was raised by Ashlynn and Rhiannon with a little help from the students as well who just absolutely fell in love with him (I mean how can you not. Look at that face!).

Ford enjoys screaming when he can not see Ashlynn or Rhiannon, attempting to put all leather products in his mouth, testing out different grass patches in the yard and making friends with the gelding pasture (who are NOT sure what that little alien thing is but he MIGHT be okay. as long as he doesn't move. Or look at them. or get to close to their fence.)

Ford's favorite activity is napping under the table or in the front of the barn but he also enjoys long strolls around the property where he can run and stretch those little legs.

He is an "excellent" helper whether we are picking up around the barn, getting horses groomed, or cleaning tack.

It’s been a busy few weeks here at the farm!

We kicked things off with our annual Barn Paint Party. The original plan was to paint jumps and decorations for upcoming shows… but somewhere along the way, the kids decided they were part of the art project too. As you can see, “finger painting” may have gotten a little out of hand! 🎨😂

Despite the colorful chaos, our riders did an amazing job painting jumps and magnets for future events. We fueled the creativity with plenty of pizza, chips, and some delicious dirt pudding!

Last Saturday, we hosted a barn movie night! Riders spent time cleaning tack for future shows, hanging out with the ponies, and enjoying pizza and snacks while watching Secretariat. It was a great evening filled with horses, friends, and lots of laughs.

A huge thank you to all of our parents for helping make these events possible and for bringing your kiddos out to the farm. We are so grateful for our barn family and love having the opportunity to watch these young riders grow not only as equestrians, but as kind, hardworking people.

Now we’re loading up and heading to the next adventure!

Please join us in wishing Grace, Brooklyn, and Audrey the best of luck as they compete at the Georgia 4-H State Horse Show this week at the Georgia National Fairgrounds in Perry. We are so proud of all the hard work they’ve put in and can’t wait to cheer them on!

✨Employee of the month✨

Deja Moo!

Deja has been with us now for about a year! We acquired one of our previous EOM's Posie and we just couldn't let her be the only cow out on the farm.... enter Deja!

Deja has a slight authority problem and absolutely does what she wants when she wants.. that being said Deja is 100% rideable! Deja although does not do any work outside of a quick bare back ride in the pasture loves to get all the attention she can and if that means packing a kiddo around a lap or two she is all in!

Deja like Posie is one of our quality control moderators here on the farm. She is here to make sure that all hay, grain, grass and treats are up to her VERY high standards. ( her standards are not high. She's a cow. She will eat anything she can get her hoofs on).

Now a common misconception about Deja is that she is a bull because she has horns, Deja is actually a COW which means she is not only a female but she has had a calf before! Cows, heifers and bulls can all have horns and it is actually a breed specific trait and NOT a gender specific trait!

Deja would love for you to come visit her (provided you bring her treats) and all the other four legged friends we have out here at Iron Gate!
