Something is brewing (from yesterday Sept 1), part 2—oooo, the first impression is looking good. I had to dilute the second and third batches as the pigment load was overwhelming the alum/chalk precipitants. Arizona grape. Vitus arizonica. Many thanks to J o a n n e G r e e n for her wonderful book to help make all this experimentation happen! 🖌️ 🎨

📖On Saturday’s Nature Journal Academy Session 9 I taught a page layout class, dipping into the science of eye flow and the math of the golden mean / rectangle (yay for Fibonacci!)—and also harmony by balancing white space and/ or text and drawings. This is the page we all worked on while going on a virtual field trip to the San Pedro River using images and video from a visit last year. This one was a lot of fun to do!

🌅☀️ Good morning from Ravenskeld. Welcome little travelers. Migration in full swing. Black-chinned, Rufous, Broad-tailed, maybe a few Broad-billed. Three feeders will be drained by midday.

Found this beauty at an art store in Kensington, London. Vintage, solid sterling silver. 🎨 Did I purchase it? Uh, no, as it was $2400! I wonder if it will still be there this November when we’re there?
