It's with a heavy heart I announce my daycare will be offically closing Friday June 27th. 💔
Unfortunately NYS has made it impossible to stay open. NYS has made huge changes over the past couple years reguarding their subsidy program. This program is FLAWED, not beneficial to providers in any way, and NYS is out of funding. It will get worse before it gets better.
Copays went down- for me meant getting $18.50 week total (from all my families) and then waiting till NYS pays the difference which has been taking months. Not just one or two but MANY months..
This has resulted in significant financial hardship over the past year or so and made it impossible today to continue to stay open- when money is not coming in within a timely manner.
Starting in July I will be having yard sales to downsize. Keep eyes open as there will be lots of baby/ children items and toys!!!!!!! As well as household items as we get ready to put the house up for sale.
Time for a new chapter and a new beginning.
NYS.... do better. It's not just policies and programs for daycare that are failing.... Start taking care of your essential workers before you don't have any. Start taking care of your people, your children, and your families NYS. Do better.
