This week, our K-1-2 class learned about Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and his powerful message of hope, kindness, and equality. After learning about his famous “I Have a Dream” speech, students created their own hallway display sharing their dreams for the world.

Their words were thoughtful, honest, and full of hope…proof that even the smallest voices can dream big and have a positive impact on the world around them ❤️

Today Mr. Jay & Mr. Luke came to talk to the K-2 class about being a firefighter as part of our Community Helpers Unit!

We talked about fire prevention and fire safety, we watched Mr. Luke put on his turn out gear and he explained what each piece does to protect him, we even heard him talk with his SCBA mask to know what it would sound like if a firefighter was searching for you!

Then we headed outside to learn about the tools that are on the Engine and each child got a chance to sit in the Officers seat!

We even got some important homework to go over:

1. Have a family discussion about where your meeting spot would be in the event of a fire or other emergency that causes you to have to evacuate your house

2. Work on memorizing your address or phone number in case you need to provide that information to a 911 operator!

🎵🇺🇸 Our K-1-2 students spent the last few weeks hard at work in music class learning a special song to honor our veterans! Today, we celebrate Veterans Day by sharing our song with you and showing our gratitude for the bravery and sacrifice of those who have served.

Our first annual “Fall-O-Ween” festival was so much fun!
The kids celebrated in their classrooms and then did a costume parade through the parking lot to receive treats from their families!
There were smiles all around!!

Our 3 prize categories where:
-most colorful
-most creative
-most Christlike

This week’s school age summer camp theme: “Agent Academy” is off to a great start!
So far we have made our own Official Secret Agent Badges, cracked codes (using emojis and our DIY cipher wheels) and learned about our fingerprints!
We also tried our best to make it through our wall of lasers outside!
