They came to Capital Prep as scholars. They went to and through college. And now, they’re coming back to pour into the next generation. ❤️🎓

At our annual Network Day, we welcomed some incredible Capital Prep alumni back home for an inspiring Alumni Panel! Our former scholars sat down with Illuminators to reflect on their favorite Capital Prep memories, share their journeys through college, and celebrate all they’ve accomplished since graduation.

Meet a few of the amazing members of our Capital Prep family (from left to right):

💫 Benjamin Mccullough, Class of 2018 (Harbor Upper) — UConn graduate and now a Middle School Illuminator at Capital Prep Upper!

💫 St. Christopher Thomas (Harlem) — Recent St. Thomas Aquinas University graduate, soon to begin an internship with Trail Runner International in Marketing. Before starting his next chapter, he returned to Capital Prep to share his talents as a freelance photographer!

💫 Quincie Howard, Class of 2020 (Harbor Upper) — Claflin University graduate and now Head Cheerleading Coach at Capital Prep Harbor Upper!

💫 Hugh McCalla, Class of 2013 (Hartford) — Morehouse College graduate and Federal Policy Analyst who continues to give back as a Substitute Illuminator at our Harbor schools.

💫 Aiden Henry, Class of 2023 (Harbor Upper) — Morehouse College graduate who also earned his Associate Degree while at Capital Prep at just 15 years old, and now is heading into his first year of law school at Seton Hall.

This is what it means to be part of a lifelong community. Once a Capital Prep scholar, always a Capital Prep scholar!

It was so exciting to meet our new Bronx scholars and watch them start their first day off strong by meeting their new illuminators and peers, getting acquainted with the building, learning about the school expectations and more! Our new Illuminators experienced Signing Day, which is a CPREP tradition and officially welcomes them to the Capital Prep family. We're ready for an exciting year ahead and we can't wait to see our scholars and kick off a year of impactful growth and learning!
