🌟 CGS Assistant Principal Spotlight 🌟
This week is National Assistant Principals Week, and we’re highlighting the assistant principals who help make our schools such a great place to learn and grow!
Today, we are spotlighting CHS Assistant Principal Allison Carter. We asked her some questions so the CGS community can get to know her a little better. Check out today’s spotlight below! 👇
Who are you? (Where are you from?)
- "I live in Clyde with my husband and our four children. I am originally from the Cleveland area. I graduated from Ohio University and began my teaching career in Clyde. Over the years, I have grown to truly love and appreciate the strong sense of community here."
How many years have you been with CGS, and how long have you been an Assistant Principal at CHS?
- "This is my fourteenth year at CGS. I taught high school history for my first twelve years and this is my second year as assistant principal."
What is the most rewarding part about being an assistant principal?
- "The most rewarding part of my job is helping students find their path throughout high school, supporting them as they grow, overcome challenges, and help them realize their potential."
What is one thing you wish more people knew about your role?
- "The role of an assistant principal can sometimes carry a negative connotation, often being associated primarily with discipline. However, I wish more people understood that the position encompasses so much more. I get to witness the incredible work our students and staff accomplish each day and support them in meaningful and positive ways."
How do you like to support and connect with students and staff?
- "I work to be approachable and accessible to all students and staff. I make it clear that my door is always open, whether someone needs support with a problem or wants to share new ideas."
What is a piece of advice you often give to students?
- "No matter the situation, we have the opportunity to learn, grow, and move forward. A single moment does not define who you are."
What are some of your hobbies or interests outside of school?
- "I like to spend time with my family, read, and watch golf!"
Fun fact about you that most people don’t know?
- "I have been skydiving!"
