Our Three Points and Mack Elementary students vigorously participated in the annual Jog-a-Thon fundraiser this Friday! Seeing families running laps together during this longstanding BCS tradition was a joy. A group of high schoolers even came out to cheer on the younger students at the Clyde Hill campus. Each child received a trackable wristband and the opportunity to run for half an hour โ then they got to see how many laps they ran!
We are so thankful for the people who organized Jog-a-Thon, for those who contributed financially, and for all of the comradery, friendship, and kindness displayed during the runs!

On Thursday, Mack Kindergarteners went on a field trip to the Food Bank Farm in Snohomish. They learned about the work farmer Jim is doing by growing food for the local food bank, helped harvest corn to send to the food bank, and got to pick pumpkins!
An important part of the Teaching for Transformation curriculum that BCS uses is learning to recognize and live out throughlines. Throughlines are discipleship practices that invite students, teachers, and parents to think deeply about what it means to be a part of God's wonderous story! Field trips like this that focus on caring for others help young minds to understand what it means to be a servant worker or a community builder (two of our throughlines) in hands-on, tangible ways!
