Clovis East High School Choirs The Clovis East High School Choral program is a proud member of the Clovis Unified School District.
Formed at the inception of Clovis East High School in the Fall of 1999, the choral program quickly grew to national recognition under the leadership of Dan Bishop. Under his direction, the choirs at Clovis East have earned consistent superior and command ratings at festivals. Furthermore, he led the Women's Chorale to perform at California All-State Music Educators Conference in San Jose (2016) an
d twice at the American Choral Directors Association Western Division Conference in Reno (2012) and in Pasadena (2016). Carlin Truong is the new director of the Clovis East High School Choirs. He completed his MA in choral conducting from San Jose State University (SJSU) under the tutelage of Dr. Jeffrey Benson. Before to moving to Clovis East, Carlin Truong served as the assistant director of vocal music at Carlmont High School, a conductor in Crystal Children's Choir, and the director of music ministries at First Presbyterian Church of Mountain View. The Clovis East High School choral program welcomes every student and features several ensembles that foster the growth of every singer. This school year, 2016-2017, our program features the following ensembles:
Before School: Packappella - Pop A Ca****la Ensemble (auditioned, mixed)
Before School: Show Choir (auditioned)
1st period: Concert Choir Men (unauditioned)
2nd period: Timberwolf Chorus (mixed, auditioned)
3rd period: Concert Choir Women (unauditioned)
4th period: Women's Ensemble (auditioned)
After School: Women's Chorale (auditioned)
*You must be in a daytime choir in order to audition and participate in Women's Chorale
