The Clovis East Ag Center was a busy place this morning. Ag teachers held their annual Fall Classic - a time for students to practice showmanship and get advice from industry experts. Along with the animals, students also had welding and floral projects evaluated. This morning represented a lot of hard work from our students and teachers.

Started the day with our CTE Education/Child Development pathways for the first Saturday Academy of the year. Over 80 students spent their morning learning about keeping students engaged and moving. We have a great group of future educators!

What a great day for our ROP teachers! Several Clovis Unified CTE teachers presented to their peers from districts all over the valley: Brian Gibbs - self defense; George Bonanno - cookie decorating; Beth Weaver, Andrea Brazil & Nicole Berg - Play is Learning -Child Development. All teachers attended 2 sessions and learned something about what goes on in other pathways. We also heard from a technology start-up success story and listened to a band made up of a CTE teacher and former CTE student. Thank you FCSS ROP/CTE for a wonderful day!

FCSS ROP/CTE recognized and honored Trina Hooke at their ROP Fall Conference today with their Classified Employee of the Year Award. Trina has worked for Clovis Unified for 25 years and over 5 years with CTE. She is instrumental in organizing our CTE events, and she supports all CTE staff. Thank you for all you do, Trina!

How did you spend your summer? Students from Clovis West, Mendota, and Riverdale ROP Auto Tech classes spent the last 4 days working alongside industry partners to learn the latest techniques in auto detailing. Students used equipment and products donated by industry professionals. These partners also donated their time to share their expertise with the students. Thank you:

Congratulations to the following students from the BHS CTE Design, Visual and Media Arts pathway for taking 1st, 2nd, 3rd places in the Congressional Art Competition - Photography Category:
1st place: Carlie Thomason
2nd place: Iris Pruneda
3rd place: Evan Nguyen

This is a nationwide high school visual art competition, which recognizes and encourages artistic talent throughout the nation. The winning works are displayed for one year at the U.S. Capitol.

Today we celebrated the CEHS Emergency Response pathway's National Accreditation with an event that included the Fire Tech students, district and site administration, Clovis Fire Department, and FCSS ROP/CTE. Congratulations to all!
