We grew a mystery melon lol!!
There's a whole vine of them!
I was gonna stick it in the fridge first but the kids didnt want to wait. So we cut it up and inspected the colors and seeds.
Then each kid took a bite. We talked about the texture and flavor. They all gave a thumbs up!
So whatever mystery melon this is will be grown again next year lol!

Did you know the Ca Food Program requires 1 food from each of the food pyramid for lunch, 4 for breakfast and 3 for snack?
Processed foods are not always ideal, but you try taking string cheese from 6 toddlers!! 😆 😆

Here's a perfect example of learning through play!
I gave this child a color matching activity and added additional "tools" to see if she would get creative.
She did!!
Even though I didn't direct her to use scooping skills to collect the puff balls she saw the measuring spoon and put it to work! I do not "correct" them with open ended learning activities!
