Hey Dads! It's almost time for our THIRD All Pro Dad meeting at Oakridge on Oct. 26 at 7:15 in Room 307! All Pro Dad is a monthly gathering where dads get to intentionally engage with their kids in 2nd-5th grade! There will be fun activities and a character-based curriculum that helps dads start meaningful conversations with their kids. We would love to see you there. This is limited to the first 50 people (children must be in 2nd-5th grade) to sign up. If you would like to come, please RSVP at allprodadchapters.com

We are so excited to pass the MVP Chain to Mrs. Rothaupt, our amazing school counselor! Mrs. Rothaupt is always behind the scenes, making things happen for our students and staff. Whether she is supporting students, helping families, or jumping in wherever she is needed, she does it all with a caring heart and a commitment to helping our Eagles succeed.

Kian is the latest recipient of the MVP award. He is an outstanding student who consistently goes above and beyond to support both his peers and staff. Kian possesses an exceptionally kind heart and an innate ability to notice when someone is in need. Recently, while in the dance holding room, where Kian volunteers his time to help, Kian noticed a second grader who was having a difficult time making friends. Kian didn’t forget about this. Later that day, during lunch buddies, Kian went right over and asked the same student to have lunch with him. It was an extremely kind gesture from the bottom of his heart. Kian is always looking out for everybody, showing what it truly means to be EAGLE PROUD.

What a fun morning at OES! Our students had a blast watching the inflatable obstacle course, and it’s safe to say the adults had just as much fun! This was a special incentive earned by reaching our Boosterthon goals for the year, and it was the perfect way to celebrate our students’ hard work and support. The smiles, cheering, and friendly competition made for an unforgettable morning!

OES will be closed from October 5th - 9th for Fall Intersession. Additionally, there will be no school on October 12, as it is a Teacher Workday. Have a wonderful and safe week off!

Guess who stayed up past bedtime reading? The stuffies from Knight's class spent their night in the media center finding the best picture books, reading to each other, and turning pages by flashlight. Dr. Andrew caught them in action! Ask your child what book their stuffie might have picked. It's a fun way to start a conversation about their own favorites.

For the month of September, our Power Skill theme is Having a Positive Attitude. A positive attitude means choosing to look for the good, encouraging yourself and others, and trying your best, even when something feels hard. Having a positive attitude doesn’t mean every day is easy or that everything always goes your way. It means choosing how you respond, using kind words, staying hopeful, and continuing to try when things get challenging.
