We had such a fun time in Columbia for FFA Day at the State Fair!! Members got to interact with FFA chapters across the state, learn more about agriculture through the countless exhibits and programs, pet the animals, get on rides, watch the State FFA Tractor Driving competition, AND most importantly eat some fair food 🐐🎡🍦💐🐥

We had an amazing week in Greenville at the SC FFA Stare Convention!!

We come home with a 2nd place Agriscience Fair win from an awesome project Lyra Work completed this school year!

This trip also included so many fun tours and visits:
- Clemson University Campus Tour
- SC Botanical Garden Visit
- Bob Campbell Geology Museum Visit
- Greenville Zoo Visit
- Falls Park over Reedy River
-Downtown Greenville exploring!

We also had an amazing time at sessions and convention activities:
- Participating in the delegate session as a student run organization
- Being recognized as a Superior Chapter
- Workshop on Agritourism from a Clemson representative and leadership from the National FFA President!
-Recognition for our chapter membership numbers (100% Plus!)
- Fun at the Expo!
- Recognition for our State CDE wins throughout the school year (Agronomy & Horse Judging)
-Cheering on Clover ATC FFA in Gator Wars
- Member Social hosted by Woodmont High FFA

and interacting with the state officers and members from across the state!

Now for the rest of summer break before we kick off again in the fall!

The Oakridge Middle FFA Chapter had a great time this past Friday participating in our first set of Career Development Events for the school year, which are competitions within the National FFA Organization. We traveled to Piedmont Technical College in Greenwood, SC for the SC FFA Fall Fantastic Friday where over 200 middle and high school members on over 50 teams were in attendance. We had two teams compete in the following events: Agronomy and Milk Quality & Products.

The Agronomy CDE tests students' knowledge of crop and soil sciences with a written knowledge test, plant/weed identification, equipment identification, insect identification and team problem solving components. Our team was the top ranked middle school team. Team members include Elim Leary, Peter Johnson, Nugent Moore, and Lucas Arnott.

The Milk Quality and Products CDE tests students' knowledge on all aspects of the dairy industry with a written knowledge test, cheese identification, milk defects identification, fat content scoring, and a team problem solving activity. Our team was the 3rd place middle school team. Team members include Dalton Osterberg, Isabella Seon, Ana Coplin Torres, and Lyra Work.

We are so incredibly proud of the work students put in preparing for these events and are thankful to the sponsors and planners for providing this opportunity!
