Cloquet Public Schools

Over the course of July 23rd-27th Mr. Hallgren and a group of 14 students from CMS had the amazing opportunity to travel to Washington D.C. with the organization World Classrooms. This is the second trip CMS students have participated in via World Classrooms following their initial trip in the summer of 2024.

While visiting Washington D.C. the students and Mr. Hallgren packed a large amount of history into four days. They visited the WWII memorial, The Washington Monument, The White House, The Smithsonian American History Museum, The Smithsonian Natural History Museum, The Pentagon 9/11 Memorial, Arlington National Cemetery, The U.S. Marine Corps War Memorial (Iwo Jima Memorial), The United States Holocaust Memorial Museum, The MLK Jr. Memorial, The Vietnam Veterans Memorial, The Lincoln Memorial, the Korean War Veterans Memorial. The Supreme Court, The Capitol, The Library Of Congress, Smithsonian Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center, The FDR Memorial, Thomas Jefferson Memorial, Old Town Alexandria, Mount Vernon and the National Museum of the United States Army.

While on their trip the group was accompanied by Flat Larry The Lumberjack. Flat Larry is a huge fan of history. He could not pass up the opportunity to check out the sights of Washington D.C. and get his picture with such a great group of Cloquet students.
