Good Morning, Washington Elementary! Today's activity of the day is draw your body and color what parts of your body changes or notices when you have a big feeling that is coming. This is to help us start to be aware of our bodies. When children realize they are having strong feelings, they can take steps to calm down to keep themselves from getting out of control. This is a good reminder for us adults as well. We can use these same skills to help keep us calm and in control. I hope everyone has a great week!

Right now a lot of us might be feeling nervous and scared about all the unknowns and changes we are facing. One thing that I have found can help calm my thinking and body, is to remind myself of the things that I can control and the things that are out of my control. This is a visualize to help remind us of both of these things. As parents and caregivers we have to make sure we are also caring for ourselves so we can be the best we can be for our little ones around us. If we remain calm, this will trickle down to our child/children.
