That’s the question that challenged Presbyterian College students as they wrapped up a summer of undergraduate research at the 2026 Summer Research Symposium.

From cancer biology and environmental science to robotics, chemistry, history, and linguistics, Blue Hose researchers spent the summer asking bigger questions, making new discoveries, and presenting original scholarship alongside faculty mentors.

From future space exploration to next-generation batteries, Presbyterian College students are conducting NASA-funded undergraduate research that’s making an impact far beyond the classroom. 🚀

This summer, physics students Veby Youssef and Sam Gearheart are working one-on-one with faculty mentors through grants from the NASA South Carolina Space Grant Consortium. They’re tackling real-world scientific challenges in physics, engineering, renewable energy, robotics, and planetary science.
