🌿 Black Cohosh Root 🌿

Black Cohosh (Actaea racemosa) is a woodland perennial native to eastern North America with a long history of traditional use. Indigenous peoples of North America used the root and rhizome in a variety of preparations, and it later became incorporated into Western herbal practice. Today, Black Cohosh is especially known in herbalism for its traditional association with menstrual and menopausal wellness, while historically it has also been used in preparations relating to muscular tension and general discomfort.

Magically, Black Cohosh Root is associated with protection, courage, strength, purification, love, personal power, and releasing unwanted influences. Its protective nature makes it useful in workings intended to strengthen boundaries and help someone stand firmly in their own power. It can be incorporated into protective charms, cleansing work, courage spells, and rituals focused on releasing unhealthy attachments or difficult energies. Black Cohosh has also developed associations with love and attraction magic, particularly workings intended to strengthen confidence and encourage healthier relationships.
