Medicare Open Enrollment starts TODAY and ends Dec 7! Reading thick booklets of health coverage choices makes for a very unique fall tradition. We’ve partnered with Senior Care Questions to help families sort through plan updates, drug costs, and provider lists. Give them a call at 888-560-3898 to talk through your options.

🚪 The door that doesn’t close right anymore—it sticks just enough to be annoying. Maybe you’ve gotten used to it. But what if you didn’t have to?

Sometimes the smallest things—a door, a drawer, a squeaky step—can wear on us more than we admit.

What’s one little fix you’ve been putting off that could make life easier today?

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, a time to focus on care, risk reduction, and early detection.

Regular screenings like mammograms may not be anyone’s favorite appointment, but they’re important. Most women are encouraged to start getting mammograms around age 40, typically every two years, depending on personal risk. Catching changes early usually means more options and more time to make decisions that feel right for you.

If it’s been a while since your last checkup, consider this your reminder to get it back on the calendar! A little planning today can help you feel more prepared for whatever comes next.

Alzheimer’s and Brain Awareness Month is an opportunity to talk about what’s part of normal aging and what might be something more.

It’s normal to forget where you set your glasses or pause on a name now and then. That can happen to all of us. If someone starts getting turned around on their way home, asks the same question repeatedly, or struggles with everyday routines like paying bills or following a recipe, it could be a sign of something different.

Talking to a doctor early won’t change the diagnosis. It can, however, make a meaningful difference by giving families more time to understand what’s happening, plan ahead, and find the right support.

Patriot Day carries extra meaning this year as we mark 25 years since September 11, 2001.

A whole generation has grown up since that morning, yet many memories still feel close enough to reach out and touch. The silence after the news broke. Handwritten notes left on counters at churches and fire stations. Flags hanging from porches long after September ended.

Fear filled that day, yet so did reminders of how quickly strangers became neighbors. Meals showed up without asking, and phones kept ringing just to make sure someone was okay.

Patriot Day gives communities a chance to pause, remember the lives lost, and honor the courage that carried so many people forward afterward. A lot can change in 25 years. Care for one another still matters just as much. 🇺🇸

Work shapes every community, and Labor Day gives everyone a moment to recognize the effort of workers past and present who helped build what we rely on today. The holiday started more than a century ago as a way to recognize the people who kept cities growing and businesses moving. The celebration stuck because a day set aside for rest feels both practical and well deserved. If you’re able to take a breather today, enjoy it, and if work is still on the schedule, know that your contribution matters just as much. Happy Labor Day!

🤲 A Note to Caregivers

You’re tired. We see you.

You’re doing work that isn’t always visible, but never unimportant.

It’s okay to cry in the car. It’s okay to feel proud and resentful on the same day.

Care is love—but it’s also labor. It's okay to ask for support. You deserve it.

Retired doesn’t mean done. ⌛ You might have stepped away from the 9-to-5, but retirement doesn’t always mean slowing down.

Maybe you're working part-time. Mentoring. Creating.

Maybe you’re just enjoying the freedom to choose.

What does retirement really look like for you?
