Exciting News! Health & Wellness Grants Awarded!

We’re thrilled to announce the latest Health & Wellness Grants funded by the proceeds from the 2025 SL Tennessee Clinton 5K & 1 Mile Fun Run!

Thanks to our amazing runners, sponsors, volunteers, and community supporters, local classrooms and schools across Clinton City and Anderson County will be able to bring even more wellness initiatives to life for our students.

From movement programs to mental health resources and nutrition education, these grants will help make school days healthier, happier, and more active for our learners!

The Knoxville Jazz Workshop starts back up next Saturday, February 7th! 🎶🎷🎺🥁🎹🎸🎶

Young musicians are invited to join us for weekly meetings where we’ll learn and grow together while making wonderful music!

🎶Woodwinds, brass, piano, guitar, bass and drum set
🎶Group lessons, ensemble rehearsals, listening sessions and master classes
🎶 Discounted tickets to Knoxville Jazz Orchestra concerts
🎶Saturdays in February through April, 10am-1pm (excluding 3/7 & 4/4) at Joy of Music School

We were honored to be apart of the Tranzonic Employee of the Year parade this year and gain a new sponsor for the Clinton High School Band!

Here is some information about this company:

The Tranzonic Companies provides an unsurpassed portfolio of cleaning, maintenance, absorbents, and personal protection products. We manufacture and distribute products across multiple industries, including commercial, industrial, institutional, and business consumer sectors from food service to automotive to medical. We support our community with donations to various organizations-including the Boys and Girls Club of Oak Ridge, Habitat for Humanity, Toys for Tots, Second Harvest Food Bank Food Drive, and the American Red Cross. We also donated over 113 pallets of cleaning supplies, hygiene products, PPE, and more to those affected by Hurricane Helene in Georgia, Florida, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Tennessee.

It’s a great place to work where they celebrate their employees! They have a lot of employee recognition programs- and have done internships in the past for college students.

Matt has been around the Clinton High School Band for years! This is an awesome opportunity for everyone!

🎶 Drumline Camp Staff Spotlight:
Matt Weyer – Director, Carson-Newman Drumline Camp 🥁

We are thrilled to spotlight Mr. Matt Weyer, Director of the Carson-Newman Drumline Camp and Adjunct Professor of Percussion at Carson-Newman University!

Mr. Weyer leads the Carson-Newman percussion studio, where he provides private instruction, directs the percussion ensemble, assists with the Marching Eagles, and teaches percussion methods for music education majors. His extensive background includes directing percussion programs at both the high school and collegiate levels, as well as founding Contemporary Percussion Concepts, a consulting and educational organization specializing in percussion instruction, clinics, arranging, and program development.

With degrees from the University of Tennessee and the University of Georgia, Matt brings a wealth of experience to the classroom and field. His background includes teaching in Texas and Tennessee, guiding percussion ensembles, drumlines, and steel bands to high levels of success. He is also a proud alumnus of the Glassmen Drum and Bugle Corps (1999).
