This morning there was smoke detected in one of our offices and the fire alarm was immediately pulled. Our students did an excellent job exiting the school in a timely manner. Thank you to all the local fire departments for their quick response and clearing the school. Safety is our number 1 priority!

The Union High School Cheerleaders are hosting an event for young cheerleaders in our community.

UHS Cheerleaders Mini Tea Party
Location: Union High School Cafeteria
Date: August 28th Time: 5:30–7:30 PM

We are offering two registration options:

$25 Tea Party Registration Includes:
Tea party with sandwiches and refreshments
Hair and nail station
Learning a cheer dance alongside the UHS Cheerleaders
An opportunity to spend time with and learn from our high school cheerleaders

$50 All-Inclusive Registration Includes Everything Above PLUS:
Performing during the 2nd quarter of a Union High School football game alongside the UHS Cheerleaders
A UHS Cheer shirt and bow

We would love the opportunity to share this event with the community and encourage families to participate. It will be a fun way for younger cheerleaders to experience what it is like to be part of a high school cheer program while making memories with our UHS Cheerleaders.

🎨 Welcome Back to the Spartan Family 🎨

We're excited to continue introducing the newest members of our Union Intermediate School family for the 2026-2027 school year!

Please help us welcome back Ms. Melissa Lane! While she will be joining us in a new role as our Art Teacher, she is certainly no stranger to Union Intermediate School. Ms. Lane previously taught 4th Grade at UIS before transitioning to Union Elementary School.

Throughout the years, Ms. Lane has inspired students both in the classroom and through her passion for education. We are thrilled to welcome her back to UIS, where she will now have the opportunity to inspire creativity and artistic expression in all of our students.

We know Ms. Lane's enthusiasm, experience, and love for our school community will make her an incredible addition to our related arts team.

🎉 Congratulations and Welcome to Your New Role 🎉

We're excited to continue introducing the outstanding members of our Union Intermediate School family for the 2026-2027 school year!

While Mr. Jeffrey Howard is certainly not new to UIS, he is stepping into an exciting new role! For the past five years, Mr. Howard has faithfully served our school as a long-term substitute, building strong relationships with our students and staff through his dependability, dedication, and genuine care for others.

After completing the required coursework to become a classified staff member, we are thrilled to officially welcome Mr. Howard as a permanent member of our team as an ESL Teacher Assistant.

If you've ever met Mr. Howard, you know how much he means to our school community. In fact he was recently named Union Intermediate School's Support Staff of the Year, a testament to the positive impact he has on everyone around him. His servant's heart, commitment to students, and willingness to help wherever needed make him an invaluable part of the Spartan family.
