Imagine standing at the end of a long growing season. The fields have been worked. The seed has been planted. The rain has come. There have been dry days, muddy days, waiting days… and probably a few “Lord, what is happening?” days too. 😅
Then harvest comes.

In biblical times, people depended heavily on the land. A good harvest meant food, provision, security, and another visible reminder that God had been faithful through the entire season. So when Psalm 65:11 says, “Thou crownest the year with thy goodness,” it paints a beautiful picture. It is almost as if the psalmist is looking back over the year and saying: “God, when I look at the whole thing, I can see Your goodness all over it.” 🙏🏾

That does not mean every day was easy. It also doesn't mean everything went exactly the way people wanted. But God’s provision was there. His care was there. His faithfulness was there. And that speaks directly to our October focus: Harvest of Gratitude. 🌾💛

Sometimes gratitude comes easily when the blessing is obvious. But sometimes we have to slow down and look again. Maybe your “harvest” this year isn't a big financial breakthrough or a huge life change. Maybe it is peace you did not have last year. Maybe it is wisdom you gained through a difficult season. Maybe it is strength to keep going. Maybe it is a relationship that survived. Maybe it is simply the realization: “I have been through a lot, but God has carried me.” That counts too.

One practical way to live this scripture is to take a few minutes this week and look back over your year. Not just at what went wrong. Look for the evidence of God’s goodness. Write down three things He provided, taught, protected, restored, or helped you through.

You may be surprised by how much has grown in your life while you were busy watching what had not happened yet. 🌱

🌾 HARVEST OF GRATITUDE 🌾

“Let the people praise thee, O God; let all the people praise thee. Then shall the earth yield her increase; and God, even our own God, shall bless us.” — Psalm 67:5–6 KJV

Picture it for a moment… In biblical times, people understood harvest differently than many of us do today. 🌾 There was no grocery delivery. No quick run to the supermarket because somebody forgot the bread. The harvest represented food, provision, survival, answered prayer, and God’s faithfulness.

So when the psalmist said, “Let the people praise thee, O God…” and then spoke of the earth yielding its increase, the people understood the picture.

They planted.
They waited.
They depended on rain.
They worked the land.

And when the harvest came, they knew they had a reason to thank God.
And really… so do we. 🙏🏾

Our harvest may not always look like fields of grain. Sometimes the harvest is finally getting that job you prayed about. Sometimes it is having enough groceries in the refrigerator. Sometimes it is having a peaceful moment after a difficult season. Sometimes it is restored strength, a healed relationship, a door opening, a door closing that needed to close, or simply waking up and realizing, “Lord, You kept me.”

That is where our October focus, “Harvest of Gratitude,” becomes personal. Gratitude is learning to recognize what God has already allowed to grow in our lives—even while we are still waiting on other things to bloom. 🌱🌾

And here is something worth thinking about: We are usually very good at noticing what is missing. But what would happen if we intentionally started noticing what God has already provided? Today, take a moment and look around your own “field.”

Maybe everything is not finished. Maybe every prayer has not been answered the way you hoped.
Maybe you are still planting in some areas. But somewhere in your life, there is evidence of God's goodness.

Some victories make noise.

You get the job.
The test comes back clear.
The door finally opens.
The prayer gets answered exactly the way you hoped.

And then there are quieter victories.

You did not give up.
You chose peace instead of panic.
You got back up after disappointment.
You kept trusting God even when the ending was still unclear.

That is part of what makes 1 Corinthians 15 so powerful. The believers in Corinth lived in a culture filled with different beliefs and philosophies, and some were questioning whether there would really be a resurrection of the dead.

Paul spends much of this chapter reminding them that the resurrection of Jesus changes everything. Death looks final. But because Christ rose, Paul says it is not. And then comes this beautiful declaration: 📖 “But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.” — 1 Corinthians 15:57 KJV

Notice where the victory comes from. Not our discipline. Not our intelligence. Not our ability to hold everything together with a prayer, a planner, and a strong cup of coffee. ☕😊

The victory comes through Jesus Christ. That was good news for believers then, and it is still good news for us now. Because sometimes we put a lot of pressure on ourselves to “win.”

We think victory means we have to fix everything. Fix the family. Fix the finances. Fix the relationship. Fix ourselves.

But this verse reminds us that the foundation of our victory has already been established in Christ. That does not mean life suddenly becomes easy. It means we face life differently. When grief comes, we can grieve with hope.

When failure happens, we do not have to believe our story is over. When fear starts predicting the worst, we can remember that God has already proven He can bring life out of what looked finished. And when something feels completely beyond our control, we can stop pretending we are the Savior of the situation.

That job has already been filled. 🙏🏽 This is where 1 Corinthians 15:57 connects so beautifully with our focus this month, “Living A Victorious Life.” Victory is bigger than everything going our way. Victory is knowing that our lives are anchored in the finished work of Jesus Christ. Some days that victory looks like celebration. 🙌🏽 Other days it looks like quietly saying: “Lord, I still trust You.”

And sometimes that is a very big victory.

“Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.” — 1 John 4:4 KJV

Imagine being part of the early church. You love God. You are trying to follow Christ. But everywhere around you, different voices are telling you what is true, what is false, who Jesus really is, and what you should believe. Some of those voices sounded convincing too.

That is the setting behind 1 John 4. John had just warned believers to “try the spirits” because false prophets had gone out into the world. In other words: Don’t believe everything simply because somebody says it confidently. Whew. That still preaches in 2026. 😄

In a world overflowing with relentless noise—from social media feeds and news outlets to family, friends, influencers, coworkers, and even uninvited opinions from total strangers who act like certified experts—it is easy to feel overwhelmed. Amidst all these competing chatter and internal thoughts, tuning into God's quiet voice can be a real challenge. Yet, right in the middle of it all, we are called to seek Him and discern His direction clearly.

Then John gives the believers this reminder: “Greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.” 🙌🏽
He wasn’t telling them that difficult things would disappear. John was reminding them that what was happening around them was not greater than the God dwelling within them.

That matters today. When fear gets loud — God is greater. When confusion starts pulling you in ten directions — God is greater. When temptation tells you, “Just this once…” — God is greater. When somebody else’s opinion starts becoming louder than what God has already said about you — God is greater.

And sometimes living victoriously looks very practical. It may mean turning the phone off for a while and opening your Bible. 📖 It may mean praying before responding to that text. It may mean asking, “Does this advice actually line up with Scripture?” It may mean refusing to let anxiety narrate an entire story when you only know one chapter. And sometimes it simply means reminding yourself: “God is with me. God is in me. And this situation is not bigger than Him.”

This is why 1 John 4:4 fits so well with our monthly focus, “Living A Victorious Life.” Victory is not walking around pretending nothing bothers us. Victory is knowing who has the greater authority. We may feel pressure. We may hear confusing voices. We may face spiritual opposition. We may even have moments when our faith feels shaky. BUT the believer never stands alone, because Greater is He. 💛

📖 “Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.” — Romans 8:37 KJV

Picture receiving these words for the first time. The believers in Rome were living in a world where following Christ could bring pressure, rejection, uncertainty, and hardship. And just a few verses before Romans 8:37, Paul mentions some very real struggles—tribulation, distress, persecution, famine, danger, even the threat of death.

Then Paul says something almost surprising: “In all these things we are more than conquerors…”

Notice he didn’t say *after* all these things. He said in them. 💛 That changes the picture of victory.

Sometimes we imagine a victorious life as everything finally falling into place—the problem disappears, the money works out, everybody acts right, the answer arrives, and we can finally exhale. 😄

But biblical victory can look very different. Sometimes victory is having peace while the answer is still pending. Sometimes it is refusing to let fear make your decisions. Sometimes it is forgiving when bitterness would be easier. Sometimes it is getting up, praying again, and taking the next right step when yesterday wore you out. And sometimes…there is no confetti. Just you, God, and the quiet realization: “This did not defeat me.” 🎉

That is what makes Romans 8:37 so powerful. See, Paul was not telling believers that hardship was imaginary. He was reminding them that hardship could AND would not separate them from the love of Jesus Christ.

Our victory comes “through Him that loved us.” Not through our own strength. Not because we always know what to do. Not because life always goes according to plan, but through Him. 🙏🏽

That is at the heart of our September focus, “Living A Victorious Life.” Romans 8:37 is especially strong for “Living A Victorious Life” because Paul does not describe victory as escaping every hard thing. He describes victory as knowing who carries us through it.

A victorious life does not mean you never face a battle. It means the battle does not get to decide your identity, your faith, or your future.

God is still God. His love is still present. And because of Christ, the struggle does not get the final word. ✨

💭 Here’s something to think about: What situation in your life would look different if you stopped asking, “How do I escape this?” and started asking, “God, how do I walk victoriously through this with You?”

For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith. — 1 John 5:4 KJV

Imagine being a believer in the days of the early church. Following Jesus wasn’t necessarily the popular choice. There was pressure from the culture around you, opposition to what you believed, and plenty of reasons to become discouraged.

Sound a little familiar? 😊. John writes to believers and reminds them of something powerful: because they belonged to God, the world around them did not have the final word.

And notice what he calls their victory: -- Faith.

Not money.
Not influence.
Not having everything figured out.
Not even getting every prayer answered the way they expected.

Faith. 🙏🏽

That speaks loudly to us today because sometimes we think living victoriously means everything should be going right. The bills are paid. The family is behaving. The job is peaceful. The doctor gives good news. Nobody is working our last nerve. 😄

But real life doesn’t always cooperate with that picture. Sometimes victory looks like getting out of bed and trusting God for another day. Sometimes it looks like praying when you don’t know what else to do.
Sometimes it means refusing to let fear make your decisions. Sometimes it means saying, “Lord, I don’t understand this situation yet, but I still trust You.”

That is why, 1 John 5:4 connects so beautifully with our focus this month: “Living A Victorious Life.” A victorious life doesn’t mean we never experience trouble. It means trouble does not determine who we are, what we believe, or where our hope is placed.

Our faith keeps pointing us back to God. 💛 And sometimes the victory happens long before the circumstances change. It happens when fear loses its grip. When peace returns. When you decide to keep going. When you remember what God has already brought you through.
