🏫 EXPLORING COLLEGE PATHWAYS 🏫

Clinton High School junior, Cali Scott attended the prestigious WashU Rural Scholars Academy this summer.

This highly selective program brings together rural students from across the nation, engaging them in hands-on activities, lectures, discussions, and skill-building opportunities. Participants gain valuable insight into the college admissions process at top universities while also developing both academically and professionally.

"My experience at the WashU Rural Scholars Academy gave me the opportunity to learn and grow in many new ways. I enjoyed meeting other students from rural communities and making new friends! I learned more about the college admissions process, different career opportunities, and what it takes to prepare for my future. One of my favorite parts of this program was getting to experience and explore the WashU campus while participating in activities that helped me learn outside of a normal classroom setting. Overall, I really enjoyed my time at the Rural Scholars Academy and I am grateful for the experiences and connections I made."

The countdown is on! With just days until the 2026-2027 school year begins, now’s the time to take care of a few important to-dos if you haven’t already.

🔴 RETURNING STUDENT REGISTRATION - If you haven't completed this quick process, please do so ASAP. This process MUST be completed for all of our returning students (K-12).

🔵 NEW STUDENT ENROLLMENT - If you have a student (K-12) who will be new to the district this year, make sure you use our online enrollment system ASAP.

We know that drop-off and pick-up expectations can be confusing, especially if this will be your child's first year in a new building.

The maps at the links below were created to help alleviate any confusion and to ensure the safety of our Cardinals. We ask that parents refer to the maps to learn about entrances and exits at each building, where "bus only" lanes are located, and to let us know if you have any questions.

🚨 Please remember, Henry Elementary and Clinton Intermediate students will no longer walk between campuses at dismissal to meet a sibling for car rider pick-up. By keeping car riders at their own school for pick-up, we can better supervise them, reduce safety risks, and ensure smoother, more secure dismissal procedures.

🎒 20 THINGS TO KNOW ✏️

For parents, students, and community members, the Clinton School District mobile app is designed to offer one place where you can access the most needed information in a mobile, on-the-go format. You can download the district app through the Google Play Store or Apple App Store. Search for "Clinton School District".

The app provides calendar events, current news from your child's school and the district, access to school websites, sports/activities information, district notifications (including snow days), a staff directory with immediate connection to phone and email, access to PowerSchool for grades, attendance and meal balances, breakfast/lunch menus, ability to make online payments, AND MORE!

Some things to note:

🔴 When downloading the app, select "Allow" to receive push notifications with the latest news and updates from the District.
🔵 When adding the app to your phone, make sure you go through the "Start setup" procedures. Completing this step allows you to customize the app to receive information from the school(s) that your child(ren) attend.
🔴 Whenever you open the app and receive the "New Content" prompt, be sure and choose "yes". This will ensure that you are always viewing the most up-to-date info.

🎉 NOW, THAT'S A WELCOME BACK 🎉

The first day back for staff is always special, but there’s something extra exciting about doing it the Clinton Cardinal way......with the sounds of the CHS band, the cheers of our cheerleaders, and a community that shows up to welcome our staff back. ❤️💙

Today, Clinton School District staff came together for their 5th Annual Back to School Rally, and the energy was contagious. From the cheers to the high-fives and hugs from our amazing community volunteers (Rotary members, Compass Health employees, and retired teachers) it was a wonderful way to welcome our staff back and kick off a new school year.

After the warm welcome, staff gathered in the Performing Arts Center to meet new team members, share some laughs and, thanks to our generous community partners, walk away with some pretty great raffle prizes!

The district uses a variety of methods to communicate with parents, one of which are our social media outlets.

During the school year we share pictures and videos from inside our classrooms, so you never know when your child might show up on our page! Our social media outlets are also a great way to stay informed about upcoming events, announcements, and those winter snow days!

A great school year starts with great support.

As part of the district's mentoring program, new teachers met with their mentors today to build relationships, share ideas, and prepare for the year ahead. Mentors provide new teachers with the support and information they need to feel confident in their first years of teaching.

We’re not just welcoming new teachers to Clinton, we’re making sure they have someone in their corner from day one.
