At PCOTD, we’re learning much more than occupational therapy. We’re building connections, creating memories, and finding the people who will one day be our colleagues, collaborators, and fellow practitioners. While every cohort is different, Cohort 6 continues to show that support, encouragement, and a little humor can go a long way through the OTD journey.

Here’s to Cohort 6—the group that’s learning, growing, and preparing to make a difference, one occupation at a time. 💙

🔎 We spy Cohort 6 gathering together for lunch…

At Presbyterian College Occupational Therapy, some of the most meaningful learning happens outside the classroom. Whether it’s sharing a meal, celebrating successes, supporting one another through challenges, or simply taking a break between classes, these moments help build the relationships that will last far beyond graduation.

The journey through an OTD program is demanding, and having a strong support system makes all the difference. The friendships formed today become future colleagues, collaborators, mentors, and advocates within the occupational therapy profession. Learning to connect, communicate, and support one another now lays the foundation for the teamwork and interprofessional collaboration that are essential to excellent client care.

At PCOTD, we’re more than a cohort, we’re a family. 💙 As future occupational therapists, our students are building not only clinical skills but also lifelong friendships that will strengthen the profession for years to come.

Little post for today We are excited to highlight another incredible ongoing doctoral capstone project! 🎉

Working alongside Christina Turner, MS, LAT, ATC, CEP, this project is exploring the role of occupational therapy in concussion management among university club sport athletes. Through research, collaboration, and advocacy, this capstone is examining how OT can support cognitive recovery, return to participation, symptom management, and overall student-athlete wellness.

This work continues to demonstrate the expanding impact of occupational therapy in emerging practice areas and the importance of interdisciplinary collaboration in supporting athletes at the collegiate level. We are so proud of the dedication, professionalism, and passion being poured into this meaningful project and look forward to seeing its continued growth and outcomes! 👏🧠🏅

Watching Grace Durham present her final community presentation at Furman University today was such a full-circle moment.

This marks her 16th community presentation and nearly 500 participants reached across the Upstate, an incredible impact that speaks to her dedication, leadership, and heart for service.

Grace, your commitment to meaningful community engagement and education does not go unnoticed. You’ve represented our profession so well and made a lasting difference in so many lives.

Great work, Grace!!! We are so proud of you!!

Community is at the heart of occupational therapy—and this week’s *While You Grow OT Mini-Camp* is a powerful reminder of what that truly looks like in action.

Through service, connection, and collaboration, Presbyterian College OTD students brought their skills beyond the classroom and into the community—creating meaningful, engaging experiences for children and families in Laurens County. What may look like play in this reel is actually purpose in motion: students using clinical knowledge, creativity, and compassion to support participation, development, and everyday occupations.

At PCOTD, community service isn’t an “extra”—it’s embedded in who we are. Our students learn that being an occupational therapist means showing up, building relationships, and empowering others in the environments that matter most to them. Experiences like Mini-Camp not only strengthen clinical skills, but also deepen our commitment to advocacy, inclusion, and service.

We are so grateful to the families, community partners, and the Clinton community for welcoming us, and to Presbyterian College for continuously supporting opportunities that prepare our students to make a difference.

Because when we serve our community, we grow stronger together. 💙
