🏆 What a great week it's been in The Wildcat Den Pre-K at South Vermillion High School! We completed our Paths to Quality rating visit, and we are excited to share that we'll maintain our Level 3 rating. Paths to Quality is a voluntary statewide system created to improve the quality of child care and early education for children. Being a Paths to Quality provider is a great step to showcase our program's commitment to quality child care. Each Wildcat Den Pre-K employee holds a CDA or higher, along with at least 20 hours of early childhood-related professional development since our last rating visit. We are so thankful to have a highly qualified Pre-K team providing such a well-designed learning environment for our littlest Wildcats!
🍇 The sweetest part of our week in Pre-K involved loads of festival fun! We welcomed this year's Little Italy Festival Queen of Grapes, Miss Elizabeth Helt. She danced with us, helped us make our spaghetti plate craftivity, and talked about how special the festival is to our community. We also had fun joining the high school students in the themed dress-up days to celebrate festival week (👨🏼‍🍳Dress Like an Italian Cook Day - see 3rd pic). What a fun way to kick off the 60th Little Italy Festival in our community!

Correction: The eLearning day for Central Elementary is for Friday, September 4th. All other schools will operate on a normal schedule.

Good afternoon. The chiller is down at Central Elementary. We have an initial diagnosis, and we are waiting on confirmation of available parts and services. We will have an asynchronous (not live) e-Learning day for Friday, Sept. 4th.

In this difficult time, the way our football family and community rallied in support of one of our own truly is inspiring. A situation like this shows you how the power of sports and other extracurriculars allows students to gain values such as teamwork, overcoming adversity, and what living life is all about…TOGETHER.

Today at 11 am on Good Day Live and 6 pm on WTWO Sports Rick Semmler will introduce you to this months WTWO-First Farmers Bank & Trust Inspiring Athlete in South Vermillion football player Mason Larson.
Last week his mom Jade passed due to a sudden illness. Last Friday Mason played his first football game without his mom. No one knew Wildcats head coach Corey Miller had a special play up his sleeve for that game. Coach used it for Mason to score the first SV touchdown of the season and his very first varsity TD in honor of his mom.
