What a joyful day at Thornwell CDC! 💛
Yesterday's Easter egg hunt brought smiles, laughter, and excitement to children of all ages—from our tiniest infants to our energetic 4-year-olds. Many were joined by their parents as they eagerly searched for colorful eggs, proudly filling their baskets with their special finds. The air was filled with happy squeals, delighted laughter, and pure childhood wonder.
Our teachers and staff loved every moment, sharing in the joy and excitement that made the day so special. With beautiful sunshine overhead, it was the perfect way to kick off Easter weekend! ☀️🐣
We’re especially grateful to the students from Presbyterian College’s Beta Pi Chapter of Kappa Alpha Order and the Presbyterian College Physician Assistant Studies Program for helping make this day possible. Your efforts in hiding eggs and spreading joy brought so much happiness to our children—thank you for making this Easter season so memorable! 💛

Today we celebrate a truly special member of the Thornwell family — our beloved Ms. Linda 💛
For the past 5 years, Ms. Linda has been so much more than a custodian at the Child Development Center… she has been “Grandma Linda” to everyone who walks through our doors. ✨ From the moment children arrive each morning, she is there with a warm smile, open arms, and plenty of hugs 💕
Her favorite part of each day? The children, of course - greeting them at the door, visiting classrooms, or sharing sweet moments with parents. She has a way of making everyone feel seen and loved. 💫
Ms. Linda, thank you for being our rock, our encourager, and “Grandma” to so many. You have touched countless lives, and your love will continue to live on in our halls. 🌟
💬 Please join us in celebrating Ms. Linda! Drop your favorite memories, kind words, or well wishes in the comments below so we can show her just how much she means to all of us. 💛
We will be back on a normal schedule tomorrow.

Meet Pam, who has been part of Thornwell’s Child Development Center for 7 years. Pam first joined as a Floater/Substitute, became a teacher, and now serves as our Administrative Assistant, a role where she goes above and beyond to support children, families, and staff each day.
When asked what she loves most about her work, Pam shared:
“Seeing our children’s smiling faces every morning and greeting families with a hug and a smile is the best part of my day.”
Pam’s heart for children shines in everything she does, whether helping in classrooms, welcoming new families, or creating joyful memories (like the time every child brought her a flower on her birthday).
As we celebrate 150 years of hope at Thornwell, Pam is inspired by the countless children and families whose lives have been touched and looks forward to carrying that legacy forward:
“Nothing beats the feeling of a child saying, ‘I love you,’ or a parent saying, ‘Thank you for loving my child the way you do.’”
Thank you, Pam, for sharing your joy, compassion, and dedication with the Thornwell family!

Important Safety Reminder: Car Seat Safety & Campus Traffic Rules
Dear Parents and Guardians,
The safety of our students is our top priority both on and off campus. We would like to remind all families to please follow car seat safety guidelines and campus traffic rules to help keep everyone safe during arrival and dismissal times.
Car Seat Safety
🔹 Please make sure children ride in the appropriate car seat or booster based on their age, height, and weight, and that it is properly installed.
🔹 Children should remain in the back seat and use the correct restraint. Even for short trips to and from campus, it is important to buckle up properly every time.
🚔 Campus Traffic & Monitoring
🔹 Starting Monday, October 27th, a police officer will be on campus at the CDC during arrival and dismissal times to assist with traffic flow and monitor compliance with car-seat and seatbelt safety.
🔹 Please drive slowly, stay alert for students and staff, follow posted signage.
Thank you for helping us keep our students safe, not just in the classroom, but everywhere on campus.
