I have some exciting news! 🎨

Seeing my students grow in confidence and create beautiful paintings is one of my favorite parts of teaching. Here are a few moments from our watercolor workshops, where we’ve been exploring techniques, experimenting with color, and discovering just how much we can create with watercolor.

And now, I’m excited to announce that I’ll be opening a new Beginner Watercolor Workshop on Wednesday mornings!

Over six weeks, I’ll guide you step by step through the fundamentals of watercolor, helping you develop your skills and create paintings of your own.

Clinton Art House is a dream come true.

A place where I can have my own space to paint, explore new ideas, and share my passion for art with the community.

One of my favorite things about this space is that my students get to see my creative process up close. My canvases are always around the studio — some are just beginning, others are halfway there, and some are finally finished. Each one tells a different part of the story.

I love the idea that, while my students are discovering their own creativity, they can also see what it means to be an artist: experimenting, making decisions, changing direction, and sometimes simply letting a painting take its time.

I hope The Clinton Art House becomes more than a place to take art classes. I hope it inspires people to be curious, to create, and to make art a part of their lives.

A little reminder that grown-ups need playtime, too.

Look at these smiles. That’s what I love most about art.

One child paints a tornado, another paints flowers. Some love watercolor, others acrylic. Some dive into charcoal, while others prefer a pencil. Everyone has their own way of creating, and there’s room for all of them here.

And I want adults to feel that same freedom, too.

Imagine spending a few hours away from your to-do list, making art, laughing, meeting new people, and discovering something you didn’t know you could do.

Walk into Clinton Art House and you’ll find canvases, paint, and a little bit of beautiful mess everywhere. But more than anything, I want you to find a place where you feel welcome, where you can be yourself, and where it’s okay to be a beginner.

You don’t have to be good at art to enjoy making it. You just have to give yourself a chance.

Our adult watercolor workshops wrap up this Tuesday, and two new workshops are coming later this month! Registration is now open. I’d love to see you there!

I couldn’t be more proud of my students and the beautiful work they’ve been creating.

These paintings were made by my adult students at Clinton Art House — and many of them started with no previous painting experience.

They’ve been learning watercolor step by step, experimenting with color, light, washes, and different techniques… and watching their confidence grow has been one of my favorite parts of teaching.

And honestly… look at what they created!

Maybe you’ve always wanted to paint but never thought you could.
You might surprise yourself.

And this is just the beginning… I’ll be sharing more of my students’ finished paintings soon. There are so many beautiful ones I can’t wait to show you!!

On gray days, my students have a way of making my heart glow with joy.

Today, one of my students told me that at school, no one wants to sit next to her… but that she loves coming to art class because everyone wants to be around her.

Moments like this remind me that art class is about so much more than painting. It can be a place where children feel seen, included, and excited to be themselves.

One of my favorite moments at the end of every class: seeing my students hold up their finished artwork with the biggest smiles.

Every painting is different because every little artist sees the world differently.

And honestly, that’s one of the things I love most about teaching art — watching them experiment, make choices, discover what they can do, and feel proud of what they created.

I love the creative community we’re building together at Clinton Art House.
