🎡🍀 4-H Day at the Kentucky State Fair!🍀🎡

We have 14 spots available for Hickman County 4-H members to attend the Kentucky State Fair on Tuesday, August 25!

⭐ First priority for spots will be given to 4-H members in good standing who:

* Participated/ volunteered in a 4-H summer program,
OR
* Submitted an entry for Rally Day (Fair Project)

This is a great opportunity to experience the State Fair, see 4-H exhibits from across Kentucky, and enjoy a fun day with fellow 4-H members!

🚨 ONLY 12 SPOTS AVAILABLE! We'll fill spots on a first-come, first-served basis among eligible 4-H members.

🌊 4-H is headed to Jekyll Island! 🐚🦀

We’re excited to offer an unforgettable 4-H educational field trip to Camp Jekyll on the beautiful Georgia coast, April 4–7, 2027!

This is much more than a trip to the beach! Camp Jekyll gives youth hands-on learning experiences that go beyond the classroom. Participants will explore marine life, coastal ecosystems, conservation, and the unique environment of Georgia’s coast—all while making memories and building friendships along the way.

📅 April 4–7, 2027
🎓 Open to youth in grades 7–12
💲 Expected cost: $620
💵 $125 deposit due September 30, 2026
🚌 Transportation, lodging, camp classes, and camp meals are included.
💳 Payment plan available!

⚠️ Space is limited and registration is FIRST COME, FIRST SERVED! If your youth is interested, we encourage you to get the $125 deposit in ASAP to secure a spot.

Interested in forestry, wildlife, natural resources, or spending a day outdoors learning from professionals? Join us for the 2026 Kentucky 4-H Forestry Field Days!

Participants rotate through hands-on learning stations where they'll develop forestry skills like:
🌲 Tree Identification
🧭 Compass & Pacing
📏 Tree Measurement

Youth learn directly from experts with the Kentucky Division of Forestry and the University of Kentucky Department of Forestry and Natural Resources, then put their knowledge to the test in fun, hands-on contests.

📅 Upcoming Event:
September 11 – Land Between the Lakes Forestry Field Day
Registration Deadline: Tuesday, September 8 (through 4-H Online)

Event Details:
✔️ Open to Junior & Senior 4-H members
✔️ Cost: $5 per youth (checks only, payable to the Kentucky 4-H Foundation)
✔️ Youth must be accompanied by an adult chaperone
✔️ Bring a sack lunch, clipboard, and pencils

⚠️ Important: Because 4-H Online is unavailable during August, registration for the first Forestry Field Days will have a very short window once registration opens in September. Be ready to register quickly!

Forestry Field Days are a great way to explore careers in forestry, natural resources, wildlife, and outdoor education while building valuable outdoor skills.
