🍂 October Counselor Newsletter | Sampson Middle School 🍂

Our SMS Guidance Department’s October newsletter is here! This month’s focus is Kindness, Connection & Responsible Choices, with an emphasis on helping students build skills they can use at school, at home, and in their relationships with others.
Inside this month’s newsletter, families will find information about our weekly SEL lessons on self-control, empathy, respect, and effective communication, along with ways to reinforce these skills at home.

October also brings several important reminders and events, including National Bullying Prevention Month, Unity Day, Red Ribbon Week, the end of the first grading period, report cards, our Academic Awards Ceremony, and more!

🖤💛 We encourage our SMS families to take a few minutes to read through this month’s newsletter and talk with your student about what they’re learning.

Together, we can help our students make positive choices, build strong relationships, and Be the Dark Horse Difference! 🐎

📣 Attention SMS Students & Families!

Beginning Monday, September 21, all students attending Sampson Middle School athletic events will be expected to follow the guidelines outlined below.

🏟️ Athletic events are an extension of the school day, and we want our students to represent Sampson Middle School and our Dark Horse community with respect and pride!

Please review these expectations with your student before attending an athletic event. Students who choose not to follow school expectations or the NCHSAA Game Code of Conduct may be asked to leave and may lose the privilege of attending future athletic events.

We love seeing our students come out to support our Dark Horses. Let’s make sure we’re doing it the right way!

🖤💛
