Last week had the honor of presenting a Certificate of Honorary Membership to our Mississippi College President, Dr. Blake Thompson! He has also graciously agreed to become our official sponsor for our alumni chapter here at MC! was in Phi Theta Kappa when he was in college and we are thrilled to have him as our FIRST ever honorary member and sponsor! This is the other half of our Co-President team, Hannah Sendelweck! She is a senior Social Work major from Brandon, MS and joined PTK when she was at Hinds Community College in Raymond, MS! Hannah is also a member of Swannanoa here on campus! Fun fact about her is that she loves traveling more than anything. She said she is most excited for increasing the involvement and s***k of our chapter, getting a chance to lead this incredible organization that has done so much for her, and getting to work with our head sponsor MC’s very on president, Dr. Blake Thompson!!

This is one half of our Co-President team, Sam Brown!! He is a Senior Christian Studies Major from Rose Hill, Ms. He first got involved with PTK when he joined at Meridian Community College. Sam grew up on a farm and somehow figured out how to give chickens pedicures and really enjoys eating cake! Sam is also involved in the Baptist Student Union on campus is our Chief Justice in our Student Government on campus (he’s who you beg when you get parking tickets). Sam is most excited to be more involved with PTK and providing a place for transfer students to get involved around campus.

This is our Vice President and acting Treasurer, Jake Mahaffey! He is from Puckett, Ms and joined PTK at Hinds CC (Rankin campus)! Jake is a senior Political Science major with a History minor and was voted wittiest at his high school! Jake is excited to grow the involvement of PTK and have our organization taken more seriously on campus! Come hear a witty joke and get involved at our Homecoming tailgate this Saturday!!

This is our Fellowship Chair/ Chaplain, the wonderful Kathrine Meredith! She is a senior interpersonal Communications major from Yachats, Oregon; however, during the winter she travels around the US with her family. How fun! She joined PTK at Oregon Coast Community College and is looking forward to more recruitment trips in hopes of encouraging more people to sign up and be a part of our PTK chapter! Fun facts about Katherine: She was adopted from Brazil and didn’t speak a word English when she got here and her favorite thing to do is hiking or just being in the outdoors!

This is our Communications Chair, Shelby Wilson!! She is a senior Elementary Education major from Vicksburg, MS. She joined PTK at Hinds Community College and she loves to read! Switching gears a bit to our Secretary, Ruth Brooks!! Ruth is a senior biochemistry major from Brandon, Ms who joined PTK during her time at Hinds Community College. She also a member of Mortar Board and Smacs here at MC! A couple fun facts about Ruth: she is a huge marvel fan and she grew up in China as a missionary kid! Ruth is so excited to grow the community within our chapter and also increase awareness of our amazing group around campus this year!!

It’s time to introduce our officers for the 2019-2020 school year & today is dedicated to our SERVICE CHAIR!! This is Breanna Charfauros, a Junior nursing major from Terry, Ms and joined PTK in high school where she took classes from Hinds Community College. Breanna is also in Swannanoa and an RA on campus, and is working toward joining the Student Nurses Association. Fun fact about Breanna? Half her family is from Guam! She says this years service opportunities are so fun how could that not be what she is most looking forward to for this upcoming year and we agree!!!
