PROPOSITION CARDINALS-FAQ #1

❓WHAT ARE WE VOTING ON AND WHY ARE THERE 2 QUESTIONS ON THE BALLOT❓

The Clinton School District will have two issues on the April 2nd, 2024 ballot. Question 1 is a 14 Million No Tax Levy Increase Bond that will ENHANCE safety and district facilities, and Question 2 is a Zero Tax Increase Levy Transfer that will SUPPORT staff with salary and wage increases.

You might have heard the phrase, “bonds are for building, and levies are for learning." Bond funds must be dedicated to buildings/facilities, and levies are for learning. The district is wanting to address two distinct needs: (1) increasing safety and extending the life and functionality of district buildings/facilities and (2) the ability to retain/recruit staff by addressing salaries/wages. Because levy and bond funds are restrictive in what they can be used for, the district must have two questions on the ballot.

20 THINGS TO KNOW

For parents, students and community members, the Clinton School District mobile app is designed to offer one place where you can access the most needed information in a mobile, on-the-go format. You can download the district app through the Google Play Store or Apple App Store. Search for "Clinton School District".

The app provides calendar events, current news from your child's school and the district, access to school websites, sports/activities information, district notifications (including snow days), a staff directory with immediate connection to phone and email, access to PowerSchool for grades, attendance and meal balances, breakfast/lunch menus, ability to make online payments, AND MORE!

Some things to note:
*When downloading the app, select "Allow" to receive push notifications with the latest news and updates from the District.
*When adding the app to your phone, make sure you go through the "Start setup" procedures. Completing this step allows you to customize the app to receive information from the school(s) that your child(ren) attend.
*Whenever you open the app and receive the "New Content" prompt, be sure and choose "yes". This will ensure that you are always viewing the most up-to-date info.

IMPORTANT-PAY LUNCH BALANCES/FEES/FINES

The last day of school is next week (TODAY FOR OUR SENIORS). As always, we ask that all lunch balances, fees, and fines be taken care of before the last day of school.

If you are uncertain if your child has a balance that needs to be paid, please contact their school office.

Phone calls are made every Thursday evening to families who have a lunch balance of -$20 or more. The district currently has $32,000+ in meal fees that need to be paid.

We thank you in advance for your attention to this very important matter.
