We're excited to see the success of a new municipal workforce training series designed to support the communities we serve!

Participants from Wrightsville Beach, Wayne County, Town of Newton Grove, and Cumberland County completed the first class in a four-part series last week. Topics covered included equipment and tool safety, personal protective equipment, traffic control, and workplace safety.

Today participants will continue their training with equipment operation, inspection, and safety! Upcoming sessions will focus on trenching safety and municipal water systems.

Ashley Grimes, Heavy Equipment Operator (HEO) Instructor said, "I was very pleased with the success of our first class. The participants were eager to learn and fully engaged in the hands-on training, bringing a wealth of experience and knowledge from across the municipal workforce. Their collaboration provided valuable insight into the challenges municipalities face in their day-to-day operations. Understanding those challenges allows us to develop training that better meets their needs and strengthens our partnerships with the communities we serve."
