Metro East Chapter of Credit Unions

Yesterday during our annual Holiday Luncheon, the Metro East Chapter presented McWarm and Motown Soup with $8,900 each as our 2025 selected Nonprofits. Our efforts to raise funds for charity is part of our cooperative movement to make a bigger impact together!

We were also able to honor Vicki McIntosh of FreeStar Financial Credit Union for her 49 years of service to the credit union movement before her retirement at the end of this year. Thank you for your service Vicki!

On Tuesday, Oct. 21st, the Metro East Chapter volunteered at Motown Soup. Our group produced:

-210 Italian Wedding Soups
-202 Lemon Chicken Orzo Soups
-201 Tortellini Soups

This equates to nearly $4,000 in potential revenue for Motown Soup to distribute to local Non-Profits in our community. What an amazing day!

We had a great time volunteering with McWarm today! We peeled potatoes and carrots for the lunch meal, wrapped silverware, served food and dried dishes. Thanks to Evita at OUR Credit Union, Jennifer at Ignite Credit Union and Mickie, Megan and Rebekah from Christian Financial Credit Union for all your help today! Truly showcasing the credit union difference in action. ♥️

Thank you to all the CU's who participated in our recent fundraiser with Motown Soup! We sold $1970 worth of product of that $492.50 is going to The Wave Project! This wonderful (and super easy fundraiser) helped both of our 2024 Charities. We appreciate all that you guys do to continue to help us live out the CU mission of "people helping people".

On Thursday April 11th, 20 or so of us from various CU's that are a part of the Chapter met up at Motown Soup to package products for them to sell. Motown Soup is one of the Non-Profits we are committed to helping this year with our various fundraising efforts. We currently have a fundraiser going on with them until April 30th. If you are interested in making a purchase from Motown Soup that would not only benefit them, but also our other non-profit, The Wave Project, please message us and we can walk you through. Motown Soup sells soups, dips, desserts and much more! Their products make great gifts for Mother's Day, Birthdays, and showers.

People Helping People? More like People Helping Kids!

Board members Cheryl Duncan and Kevin McAlpine (centered) were excited to accept a $9,512.36 check from the Metro East Chapters of Credit Unions. Credit Unions are committed to serving the community and they demonstrate it with their support of many important causes.

These dollars will be put towards the Forever Home Campaign of the Macomb Foster Closet. We can't wait to invite them, and you, in to see what their support was able to do!

We are almost there!

This year, we focused on Gianna house and Macomb Foster Closet for our charity committee to help out.

We did a gift card drive for Gianna’s house this summer and helped Macomb Foster Closet set up for their mom to mom sale that is their biggest fundraiser of the year.

Thank you to all the CUs that helped us make these events possible!! We cannot do it without all of you!!

A donation of over $9,800 is helping send care packages to military men and women. Thank you, FreeStar Financial Credit Union, Michigan Schools & Government Credit Union, Motor City Co-op Credit Union, Extra Credit Union, Eastpointe Credit Union and Belle River Community Credit Union.

Metro East Chapter of Credit Unions donates to Operation Care Package-Michigan Providing the resources to send care packages to our military men and women serving overseas.
