Ms. Niskar’s 4/5 class at Higgins Elementary School created playgrounds for their Bridges Math project of the year, culminating all they’ve learned to put together a fun playground design! They even held a special ribbon cutting to celebrate!
The group designed playgrounds, drew up the plans, and created the models, with many including adaptive features in their models so kids of all ability levels can be included and enjoy. We are so proud of this group for taking their learning to the next level and for displaying outstanding empathy and consideration for others.
Great work!

Each of our elementary schools and middle schools invited the Class of 2026 to walk the halls of their former schools one last time. Seniors got to see many of their old teachers, share fun memories, and even play on their old playgrounds!
What a fun send off for the Class of 2026!

Choir students from Middle School - Central and Middle School - South joined forces to compete, and their stellar performance was awarded the first place prize in their category!
After performing in front of fellow band and choir students from around the country, our students enjoyed a fun day at Cedar Point. Congratulations to our bands and choirs on their outstanding work!

Two of our L'Anse Creuse elementary students—Milena N. from South River Elementary and Cecilia B. from Yacks Elementary—were finalists in the Macomb Intermediate School District's "Little Inventors" Challenge! Out of 2,400 applications from around the county, Milena and Cecilia were 2 of the 14 selected to have their hand-drawn inventions brought to life by local STEM and Design organizations.
The challenge was to invent something inspired by an animal or designed to help an animal. Milena created "The Giraffe Neck," which is a tool modeled after a giraffe to help the user see in high places. Cecilia designed the "Binoc Cam," which is a pair of binoculars with a camera installed to help identify the animal species the user is looking at.
Congratulations to Milena and Cecilia on their outstanding inventions!
