Summer is here, and what a great week we had at Volleyball Camp at Chesterton Academy of Our Lady of Guadalupe! ☀️🏐

Campers spent the week developing their skills, building teamwork, and having plenty of fun on and off the court. From learning the fundamentals of the game to growing in confidence and friendship, it was a wonderful way to kick off the summer.

A special thank you to our coaches, volunteers, and families who helped make the week such a success. We are grateful for everyone who joined us and made so many great memories along the way!

On May 30 we had the privilege of celebrating the graduation of the Chesterton Academy of Our Lady of Guadalupe Class of 2026. 🎓

As we reflect on this milestone, we give thanks for the many ways these graduates have enriched our school community through their faith, friendship, leadership, and pursuit of truth, goodness, and beauty.

We are incredibly proud of all they have accomplished and excited to see where God leads them next. Know that you will always be a part of the Chesterton family.

🎓 Senior Spotlight: Justin Shaw

Justin’s favorite Chesterton memories include choreographing a sword fight for Macbeth with his friend Carmelo and sharing countless laughs with classmates, teammates, and teachers along the way.

During his time at Chesterton, Justin says he grew tremendously in his Catholic faith, developed greater discipline, strengthened his writing skills, and found a passion for robotics.

His advice to underclassmen: join robotics, do your homework early, and make the most of your time with friends and extracurricular activities.

Next up for Justin: studying Aerospace Engineering at the University of Michigan, building on the experiences and opportunities he found through Chesterton’s robotics program.

🎓 Senior Spotlight: Carmelo D’Alio

One of Carmelo’s favorite Chesterton memories was performing in Macbeth, especially the sword fight scene with his friend Justin Shaw. The time spent practicing together created memories and friendships he’ll always cherish.

During his time at Chesterton, Carmelo says he grew in his understanding of the Catholic faith, developed stronger critical thinking and writing skills, and discovered a deeper appreciation for language, philosophy, and learning.

His advice to underclassmen: do your homework, pursue true joy, and take full advantage of the unique Catholic and classical education Chesterton provides.

Next up for Carmelo: studying Electrical Engineering at Benedictine College on a Presidential Scholarship, with plans to minor in Business.

🎓 Senior Spotlight: AnaMaria North

AnaMaria’s favorite Chesterton memories were the countless moments spent laughing with friends, especially in Mr. Pawlowski’s classroom. During her time here, she says Chesterton helped her build lasting friendships, grow in her faith through daily Mass, and develop a deeper love of learning.

Her advice to underclassmen: enjoy every moment, have fun, and build strong friendships—high school goes by fast.

Next up for AnaMaria: studying Canon Law at the Universidad de Navarra in Spain.

🎓 Senior Spotlight: Josephine Parlow

Josephine’s favorite Chesterton memory was staying up late with friends in the hotel lobby during the Ball and Cross Tournament. During her time here, she says Chesterton taught her to choose joy and God every day, even when life becomes difficult.

Her advice to underclassmen: cherish the time you have with your friends—high school really does fly by.

Next up for Josephine: pursuing a degree in neuroscience and forensics.

🎓 Senior Spotlight: Katherine Martin

Katherine’s favorite memories at Chesterton came from overcoming difficult days and realizing she was strong enough to make it through them. During her time here, she says Chesterton helped her grow in faith, strengthen her social skills, and cultivate her intellect and talents.

Her advice to underclassmen: carry your crosses courageously, appreciate the education you are receiving, and don’t procrastinate.

Next up for Katherine: independently studying music while continuing to sing in small ensembles and helping elevate the sacred Mass through music.

🎓 Senior Spotlight: Ben Varchetti

Ben’s favorite memories at Chesterton were winning his final basketball game and sharing one last dance at senior spring formal. During his time here, he says Chesterton helped him better understand and defend his faith while encouraging his creativity, especially poetry and writing.

His advice to underclassmen: make every day a good day, trust God’s plan, and maybe give “Vienna” by Billy Joel a listen.

Next up for Ben: studying biology in college while continuing to write books, poetry, and plays.

🎓 Senior Spotlight: Margaret Kucel

Margaret’s favorite memory at Chesterton was meeting so many incredible people. During her time here, she says Chesterton strengthened her faith, deepened her appreciation for music, and gave her a love for classical literature.

Her advice to underclassmen: keep pushing through and appreciate the incredible education you are receiving.

Next up for Margaret: entering the work force, with hopes of possibly attending Thomas Aquinas College in the future.
