Huron Academy A Public Charter School for PreK-8 located in Clinton Township, Michigan. A Tuition Free Public Charter School for Kindergarten through Eighth Grade.

We offer Small Class Sizes, a Hands-On Science Program, Character Education, and Strong Academic Programs. Fee based services such as Latchkey and Preschool classes are offered five days a week throughout the school year. Students at Huron Academy get close personal attention from teachers and support staff through numerous programs. We also have an active parent organization that supports school improvement initiatives. Huron Academy provides extensive teacher professional development and uses late start days and its daily schedule to support teacher collaboration for student learning. Teachers at Huron Academy participate in Professional Learning Communities focused on instructional strategies in a data-driven decision making environment.

The PTC Halloween Trunk or Treat is on Friday, October 23, at 7 PM! 🐾🧡

Put on your favorite costume, grab your candy bag, and get ready for a great night with our Huron Academy families!

🍬 Candy donations are being collected daily at drop-off and pickup!

🚗 Want to decorate a trunk? Scan the QR code on the flyer or use the Evite link below to RSVP. After you RSVP, be sure to add your trunk to the sign-up! All participating vehicles must have a completed background check.

This week, we’re featuring Mrs. Brink, one of our kindergarten teachers. We asked her to share a teacher tip, a favorite children’s book, and a message for our students and families.

🍎 Teacher Tip: Always let your Positivity
Project Character Strengths shine! Exhibiting an Other People Mindset means focusing on how we connect with those around us. We can show this mindset by appreciating the good in others, understanding that our words and actions affect how others feel, offering support, and celebrating the successes of those around us.

📚 Children’s Book Recommendation: Any Dr. Seuss book is a great choice because the silly stories and rhyming words help kids learn about the sounds in words. The books also have repeating words and letter patterns, which make it easier for beginning readers to practice reading. Most of all, Dr. Seuss books are fun, silly, and exciting, which makes kids want to read!
