Dear Summer Academy Families,
Chaperones selected for this week's field trip have already been contacted. We are currently in the process of reaching out to families regarding chaperone opportunities for the Tigers game.
If you are selected to chaperone a future field trip, a member of our office staff will contact you directly. Please note that all chaperones must complete a background check before participating. The background check form is available on our website (https://tinyurl.com/4dv3cbuv), and we ask that you complete it as soon as possible.
If you have any questions, please contact the front office at (586) 690-8180 or email [email protected].
Thank you for your support of our Summer Academy program! β€οΈπΎ

π Don't Let the Summer Slide Sneak Up! βοΈ
Summer is a time for fun, relaxation, and making memories, but it's also important to keep young minds active. One of the easiest ways to help children stay on track over summer break is by encouraging them to read every day!
Why is summer reading important? π
β
Helps maintain reading skills and comprehension
β
Builds vocabulary and knowledge
β
Sparks imagination and creativity
β
Encourages a love of learning
β
Helps students return to school feeling confident and prepared
Simple ways to make reading part of your summer:
π Visit your local library and join a summer reading program
π Set aside 15β20 minutes each day for reading
π¨βπ©βπ§βπ¦ Read together as a family
π§ Listen to audiobooks on the go
β Let children choose books that interest them
π― Create a fun reading challenge
Remember, reading doesn't have to feel like homework! Whether it's a picture book, graphic novel, magazine, audiobook, or chapter book, every minute spent reading helps keep skills sharp and minds growing.
This summer, open a book, explore a new story, and discover the joy of reading. A few minutes each day can make a big difference when school starts again in the fall! β€οΈπΎπβοΈ
