Genbu-Kai Karate of Michigan Specializing in the art of Sh*to-Ryu Karate-Do, Self Defense, Okinawan Kobudo and Batto-Do. We also offer Self Defense training for women and children.

Genbu-Kai Karate is a traditional Japanese dojo that specializes in the art of Karate-do, Kobudo (Okinawan weapons), and Batto-do (Japanese Sword). We offer no contracts, unlimited classes, Private and Group training, Self Defense seminars, Children's classes, Adult classes, Women's classes, and always a FREE trial class.

🎉 Celebration Weekend is almost here! 🎉

Join us August 7–9 as we celebrate 25 years of Genbu-Kai Karate of Michigan with an unforgettable weekend of seminars, tournament competition, and Shodan Testing.

We are especially honored to welcome Special Guest Instructor, Shihan Ken Nishiki from Tokyo, Japan.
Shihan Nishiki is:

•President, Demura-Ha Karate-Do Rengo-Kai
• Shihan, Japan Karate-Do Hokushin-Kai
• Shihan, Hokushin Itto-Ryu (7th Dan)
• Japan Karate-Do Federation (5th Dan)
• Japan Karate-Do Association (4th Dan)

This is a rare opportunity to learn directly from one of Japan’s most respected instructors and continue the traditions passed down through our teacher, Shihan Fumio Demura.

Today, we celebrate not only our nation’s independence, but also 250 years of the freedoms, opportunities, and sacrifices that have shaped our country.

We are grateful to those who came before us and to the men and women who continue to serve and protect our freedom today.
