Studying embryonic development in zoology gives our students a closer look at the incredible beauty and order found in God’s creation. We’re grateful to be able to explore science while growing in an understanding of the Creator behind it all!

Being “Ready for Life” means learning more than what you find in a textbook. It means gaining practical, everyday skills, too! This week, some of our Upton Lake high schoolers got hands-on experience in the life skill of learning how to change a tire.

What an incredible ceremony to mark the opening of Upton Lake's new high school AND the school's 50th anniversary! The speakers, including emcee Rex Bridges, an alumnus, current students, builder Brian Bovee of , Dutchess County Executive Sue Serino, and Principal Elisa DeWitt, all thanked and praised God for the work He has done here. We are grateful for this new space and for the lives being shaped, faith being strengthened, and hearts being drawn closer to Christ. God has been faithful every step of the way!

A very special highlight of the ceremony was when a bald eagle flew overhead! The eagle is not only our mascot, but a reminder of God's promise in the school's theme verse this year:

Isaiah 40:30-31

Even youths grow tired and weary,
and young men stumble and fall;
but those who hope in the Lord
will renew their strength.
They will soar on wings like eagles;
they will run and not grow weary,
they will walk and not be faint.

We thank God for this sign of his love and faithfulness! And we thank everyone at Upton Lake, past and present, who have supported the school. May God continue to guide and bless ULCS for many years to come.

September is here and that means school is only a few short days away. This month, Mrs. Hughes shares a blog post to remind us of practical ways to keep our focus on God and embrace the rest that Jesus offers to us even in this busy season. (Link in comments.)
