The first day at Liberty was filled with new classrooms, new connections, and plenty of opportunities to learn together. Students jumped right in, working with classmates, trying new activities, and making the building feel like home.

Liberty Open House is almost here! Join us Thursday, August 20 from 8:30-10:30 a.m. to walk through the building, follow your child’s schedule, and get ready for the year ahead.

Our teachers are back! We kicked off the new school year with time together as a full staff, followed by co-teaching sessions and department meetings.

There’s plenty of work happening behind the scenes, but judging by these smiles, it feels pretty good to have everyone back together. We’re getting ready, reconnecting, and looking forward to welcoming our students soon!

Liberty Middle School PTA is looking for a PTA President for the 2026-2027 school year. The position of President:

• Works closely with LMS administration to set PTA goals and identify student/school needs to be considered for PTA support
• Sets agendas and is comfortable leading PTA meetings
• Delegates and coordinate work of Officers and volunteers for events and activities planned for the year
• Abides by the guidelines and rules set by the VA PTA to keep LMS PTA in good standing and maintain its 501 (c)(3) status
• Support mission of the LMS PTA, National PTA, and Virginia PTA

We’re excited to welcome our new teachers to Liberty!

They spent their first day in the building enjoying breakfast, touring the school, and getting their classrooms ready for the year ahead. A special thank you to our Great Beginnings Coaches, Ms. Franke and Ms. Ajmani, for helping our newest staff members get off to a great start.

Today, Liberty welcomed some of our newest 7th graders for Leap into Liberty!

Led by Liberty teachers, school counselors, and administrators, students spent the morning getting familiar with the building and learning skills to help them start the year with confidence. Sessions covered digital citizenship, executive functioning, friendship and social situations, and wellness, along with a tour of the school.

It was great to have students back in the building as we get ready for the new school year!
