Mobility Matters More Than You Think 💙

Mobility isn't just about being flexible—it's about having the ability to move your joints through their full range of motion with control and strength.

When mobility is limited, your body often finds ways to compensate, which can lead to pain, stiffness, poor movement patterns, and even injury.

✨ Good mobility can help:
✔️ Reduce aches and pains
✔️ Improve posture and movement quality
✔️ Make everyday tasks easier
✔️ Enhance strength and exercise performance
✔️ Support healthy hips, back, and pelvic floor function
✔️ Decrease the risk of injury
✔️ Help you stay active as you age

Whether you're lifting your child, exercising, gardening, running, or simply getting up from the floor, mobility plays a role in how efficiently your body moves.

As a pelvic floor PT, I often find that improving mobility in the hips, thoracic spine, ankles, and rib cage can have a positive impact on core function, pelvic floor symptoms, and overall movement.

💪 Strong muscles are important—but being able to move well is just as important.

Move well. Feel better. Stay active longer.

Things I hear as a Pelvic Floor PT daily... 👂

❌ "I thought leaking after having kids was normal."
❌ "My doctor told me to just do Kegels."
❌ "I didn't know pelvic floor PT existed."
❌ "I've been dealing with this for years."
❌ "I thought pain with s*x was something I just had to live with."
❌ "I p*e 'just in case' before I leave the house."
❌ "My core has never felt the same since having a baby."
❌ "I wish I had known about this sooner."

If any of these sound familiar, you're not alone.

While many pelvic floor symptoms are common, they are not something you have to simply accept. Leaking, pelvic pain, pressure, painful in*******se, constipation, pregnancy discomfort, and postpartum issues can often improve with the right evaluation and treatment.

My goal is to help women understand their bodies, get answers, and return to doing the things they love with confidence.

💙 Which one have you heard—or said—before?

Do you p*e when you think about lifting heavy? 🏋️‍♀️💦

That’s not normal—and it’s not something you have to "just live with."

Leaking urine during squats, deadlifts, jumping, running, or other workouts can be a sign that your pelvic floor and core aren't working together as efficiently as they should.

A few drops may seem harmless, but it's your body's way of telling you something needs attention.

✨ Pelvic floor physical therapy can help you:
✔️ Reduce or eliminate leaks
✔️ Improve core and pelvic floor coordination
✔️ Build strength and confidence under load
✔️ Return to lifting without fear of accidents
✔️ Stay active doing what you love

You shouldn't have to choose between getting stronger and staying dry.

If you've stopped lifting heavy because of leaks, a pelvic floor PT can help you get back to your workouts safely and confidently.

Intermediate core exercises to try while laying down. If You are newer to core exercises or newly postpartum, you can still do these exercises but make sure you keep your head on the table. Make sure you are breathing through all of the movements! Do not hold your breath.

🤰 Pregnant and in pain? Here's what you can expect during a pelvic floor physical therapy session.

Pregnancy can bring aches and pains that make everyday activities uncomfortable—but you don't have to just "deal with it."

During your session, we'll:
✅ Discuss your symptoms, goals, and daily activities
✅ Assess posture, movement patterns, and body mechanics
✅ Evaluate strength, mobility, and core function
✅ Address areas contributing to pain, including the hips, pelvis, low back, and rib cage
✅ Use hands-on techniques when appropriate to improve mobility and decrease discomfort
✅ Teach exercises tailored to your stage of pregnancy
✅ Provide strategies for sleeping, lifting, exercising, and caring for your body throughout pregnancy

Every treatment plan is individualized because every pregnancy is different.

Our goal is to help you move better, feel stronger, decrease pain, and stay active throughout your pregnancy so you can prepare for labor, delivery, and postpartum recovery.

💙 You don't have to wait until after baby arrives to take care of your body.

Pelvic health matters at every stage of life — from athletes, to pregnancy and postpartum, to menopause and beyond 💪

So many women are told that pain, leaking, pressure, or discomfort are “normal,” but they’re common… not something you just have to live with. I love teaching women how connected the body truly is and helping them feel stronger, be more confident and empowered in their movement and everyday life.

Education is powerful, and watching women realize their symptoms are treatable is one of the best parts of what I do. 🤍

Why Start with Gentle Pelvic Floor Exercises After Birth or Abdominal Surgery?

Your body has been through a major event. Whether you've recently delivered a baby or had abdominal surgery, healing comes first.

Starting with gentle pelvic floor and deep core exercises can help:
✅ Improve circulation to support healing
✅ Reconnect your core and pelvic floor muscles
✅ Decrease pressure on healing tissues and incisions
✅ Improve bladder control and reduce leaking
✅ Support posture and breathing mechanics
✅ Build a strong foundation before returning to higher-impact exercise

More is not always better in the early stages. Gentle, intentional movement can make a big difference in recovery and help prevent future issues.

Every recovery is unique. Working with a pelvic floor physical therapist can help you safely progress based on your symptoms, goals, and stage of healing.

Different Types of Incontinence 💧

Leaking urine is common, but it's not normal—and understanding the type of incontinence you have can help guide the right treatment.

🔹 Stress Incontinence Leakage with coughing, sneezing, laughing, running, jumping, or lifting. This happens when pressure on the bladder exceeds the support of the pelvic floor.

🔹 Urge Incontinence A sudden, intense urge to urinate followed by leakage before reaching the bathroom. You may feel like you have little warning time.

🔹 Mixed Incontinence A combination of both stress and urge incontinence. Many women experience symptoms of both.

🔹 Overflow Incontinence Frequent dribbling or leakage because the bladder isn't fully emptying. This can leave you feeling like you constantly need to go.

🔹 Functional Incontinence Leakage occurs because physical, cognitive, or environmental barriers prevent getting to the bathroom in time.

✨ The good news? Pelvic floor physical therapy can help address many forms of incontinence by improving strength, coordination, breathing mechanics, bladder habits, and overall pelvic health.

You don't have to live with leaks. There are solutions.
