Who wants to learn about Dairy Farms?🙋‍♀️
Who wants ice cream?🙋‍♂
Who's ready to have fun on the farm?🙋
You probably said "ME" to all of those!

With the help of our volunteers, and passionate committee members we are able to pull off something really cool at Fun on the Farm. Our event is actually 2 days; Friday for school field trips, and open Saturday to the public.

We are proud to say that on Friday, Lawnhurst Farms hosted 1,200+ local 3rd and 4th graders to tour their farm on a hay wagon ride! But that's not the only thing, we set up educational stations that the classes rotate between to learn about even more Ag related topics. Veterinary Care, NY Animal Ag Coalition brings the Mobile Dairy Experience for a hands on learning experience, Gardening, Nutrition, and more!

To those 1,200+ students every single one got a free ice cream cone at the end of their visit. Some schools even had a picnic lunch on the farm! The cows enjoyed having some extra attention from all of the kids.

This is a really unique experience for kids to get, and we are really proud that we are able to pull it off every Fun on the Farm. We could not do it without community support and our dedicated volunteers!

If you ventured out to Lawnhurst yesterday for Fun on the Farm, you may have noticed that as you walked around our event, took a ride on a wagon, and had a great time, that people were still at work around you.

A huge reason agricultural education is so important, it takes so much work and effort to keep a farm running smoothly, and Lawnhurst sure made it look easy!

Cows still have to get fed, milked, and checked on. Crops still have to be chopped. Equipment has to be tended to.

Farming is a great example of an industry that gets no days off. Not even for Fun on the Farm. We hope that might have been one take away of your day yesterday, and that it's a testament to how much care these animals get each and every day!

We really appreciate all the support that makes this event possible, but we really appreciate everyone that works behind the scenes to make it something worth learning about!

We’ve been keeping a little secret…

And if you were at Fun on the Farm at Lawnhurst Farm today, you may have spotted a special sign that gave it away!

We are excited and honored to announce that DeBoover Family Farms will be hosting Fun on the Farm in 2028!

First, a huge thank you to the Fun on the Farm committee and everyone at Lawnhurst who made today such a wonderful event. What the public sees as a fun day on the farm is the result of countless hours of planning, organizing, coordinating and working behind the scenes- all with the goal of creating a FREE educational experience that gives our community the opportunity to see where their food comes from and learn more about what farmers do every day.

We are so grateful to be selected to carry on this tradition in 2028, and we’re already looking forward to opening our farm and sharing a little piece of our world with all of you.

So, save the date- Fun on the Farm is coming to DeBoover Family Farms in 2028!

We can’t wait to welcome you.

Some stills from the day! We still have one more hour of FUN ON THE FARM!!
We emphasize that this is a Dairy Farm and make that the heart of this event, but we showcase all aspects of the Farming Industry. There is no better way to learn about life on a farm! 🥛🐝🍎🌽🥩🥬🍯🚜

farmers create renewable energy from their cows' manure? Right now in NYS alone, energy production from on-farm anaerobic digestors reduces diesel consumption by an estimated 15 million gallons a year. Just another example of the superpowers of cows.
