Thank you Helping Hands for all the amazing years we have had with you!!!
So happy to see everyone!
Has been extended to Monday February 24th!
Helping Hands School, The staff and supporters has been one of the biggest blessings in our autism world!
Nate and Ben came to visit their pickets on the playground last weekend. As Ben gets ready for middle school and his first year of being fully mainstreamed and Nate goes into 8th grade, we continue to be grateful for the support and nurturing you gave our boys. I am so glad they will always be a part of HH!
If someone told me last summer Ian would be peddling a bike, I wouldnt have believed it. He couldnt run or walk really far without falling last summer..this summer hes running, climbing all over the playground, and PEDDLING a bike! Hes come a long way! Im so very proud of him and thankful for HH staff for working with him and helping him get here. This is Ian at camp riding his bike 😊 thank you to all who have worked with him!❤
Sending my son to school was so hard in the beginning like it is for most moms, but especially because he is a type 1 diabetic. I was so scared leaving my son in someone elses care to manage his diabetes, but Arlene put all my fears aside and has done an amazing job with Ian. They have such a close bond and Ian talks about here all the time to everyone. When getting ready for school he says "me go see Arlene" I am so greatful for such an amazing nurse and all Ians amazing teachers. It has made this momma so much more comfortable letting her baby go to school. Thank you to everyone at helping hands for your hard work and dedication, it shows how much you all do for Ian when he speaks to us now, his sentances are better and hes becoming less shy around other kids. I honestly cant even thank you all enough! ❤
School seniors😍

A place for children of all abilities!

This last week of summer program included themes such as camping, pirates, summer fun AND kindergarten. It has been our sincere pleasure to have had you and your children here with us this past year(s). We hope that this first step in a formal education process was a positive one. Our wish is that all of our children and their families end the school year feeling positively about themselves and about school in general. Thank you for your commitment to us and for sharing your children with us.

Some friends will return to school here on September 6th and some will return to visit in the future. We'll be thinking of you!

We had lots of fun here this week with themes such as camping, outer space, jungle animals, summer fun and pirates. Happy campers for sure!

We’re watching our caterpillars create their chrysalis’s now. Hanging and looking like the letter J! Currently five are in the chrysalis stage and a couple are still eating and growing. So good!

One more week of summer program and we’re going to make it a good one.

A reminder that if you would like to stock up on reusable bags, our school will receive $1 for each Community Bag sold during the month of August at the Hannaford Stores on Round Lake Rd in Ballston Lake and Clifton Country Rd in Clifton Park. Thank you!

Enjoy a look at just some of our fun and learning at school.

It has been another busy week of learning and fun here at Helping Hands and Academy Nursery School. Classroom themes included pirates, camping, outer space and the beach. Ahoy, matey. So much fun!

Classes have been continuing to visit the lobby and keeping an eye on things as we experience our own The Very Hungry Caterpillar story. We have both caterpillars and children growing here. So good!

Only two weeks of summer program remain. Time flies, that’s for sure.

It has been another busy week here at Helping Hands and Academy Nursery School. The ocean, beaches, ocean animals and fish were classroom themes. We continue to enjoy water play on our playground too. It’s not the beach, but fun and refreshing on hot days.

We now have more tiny eggs on leaves on exhibit in our lobby and even a couple of very small caterpillars. Classes have been continuing to visit the lobby, which is fun in itself, but also keeping an eye on things as we experience our own The Very Hungry Caterpillar story.

We are halfway through out summer program. Flying by, that’s for sure.

Enjoy a look at just some of our fun and learning at school.

This past week there was lots of singing of “Rain, rain, go away” here at preschool as sudden showers sometimes kept us indoors. We do love how everything is turning green though. Classroom themes this past week included Oceans/Beaches, Pond Life, Dinosaurs and Disney. Terrific preschool topics for sure.

Enjoy a look at just some of our fun and learning at school.

Need to stock up on reusable bags? Please hold off until August because we'll receive $1.00 for each bag purchased at the Hannafords in Clifton Park and Round Lake for the entire month of August. Good for the environment and good for us. Thank you!!

The first week of summer program was awesome! Classroom themes included Picnics/Bugs, Oceans/Beaches, Fireworks, Disney, Camping, Red, White & Blue and Summer Treats. So good!

We enjoyed time both outdoors where we cooled off playing at our splash pad and water tables and indoors continuing our daily routines of play and learning. Large group activities, small groups, circle time, all the things!

It was the last week of the school year here at Helping Hands and Academy Nursery School and we sure made the most of it. Classroom themes included Summer, Fun in the Sun, Jungle Animals, Nursery Rhymes and Numbers. In addition, a terrific variety of end of the year celebrations took place.

Know that it has been our sincere pleasure to have had you and your children here with us this past year(s). We hope that this first step in a formal education process was a positive one. Our wish is that all of our children and their families end the school year feeling positively about themselves and about school in general. Thank you for your commitment to us and for sharing your children with us.

Some friends will attend our Summer Program (July 3rd - August 11th, no school on the 4th) and some will return to us for a new school year on September 6th. In addition, some friends will someday return to tell us all about kindergarten. Whatever your schedule, please return and stay in touch. We'll be thinking of you!

This past Sunday, at the 9th annual 518 Memorial Softball Tournament, Helping Hands School and Academy Nursery School were presented with a $3,000 donation from The Deanna Marie Rivers Foundation.

We have received donations from this foundation in the past, including the sod the that helped us open our playground the first year at our new school. Nine years ago! We’ve been friends with Deanna’s family ever since and we’ll continue to pay it forward and honor Deanna’s memory. We are planning on some additions to our playground with this donation.

It was an honor to attend the event, to hear about how Deanna’s positivity continues to inspire her family and friends and to see so many people come together in celebration of her life.

Thank you Brian, Debbie and Jenna for making us part of your family and thank you for this very generous donation.

It has been a busy week here at Helping Hands and Academy Nursery School. The poor air quality kept us off the playground for a couple days, but we kept moving and grooving in classrooms and in our gym.

This week classroom themes included bugs, pond life, birds, zoo animals, all about me and some Eric Carle too. Butterflies were released, tadpoles are growing, busy, busy!

Enjoy a look at some of our fun.

It has been a busy week here at Helping Hands and Academy Nursery School. Thanks to wonderful Spring time weather, we’ve enjoyed lots of time on our playground. Out there we can ride a train, bang the drums, climb up steps and slide down slides or play in the sandbox. Sometimes we just run and that’s okay too.

We talked a lot about Mother’s Day this week and enjoyed stories about Moms and babies. Some surprises are coming home too and know that they were fun to create and also fun to share. We also talked about plants, gardens and flowers. Maybe some flowers for Moms? Enjoy the weekend and the special day, everyone.

Last week at Helping Hands and Academy Nursery School, we enjoyed Spring themes and lots of Spring time fun outdoors. We also learned about construction & building, flowers & gardening, pets in our homes and Eric Carle books. Busy, busy! This week classroom themes include farms, gardens and flowers, space, birds, and pets.

It’s been nice to get outside on the playground and everyone is having fun with our new outdoor drum. It has also been nice to see the bulbs that children planted back in the Fall now blooming. Lots of things are growing here!

Raffles were drawn and baskets were won! Winners will be contacted. Thank you to everyone for supporting our Helping Hands community! An event total will be coming soon, what we do know is it was over $6,000

We are very excited that tomorrow is the day for the 5K race at our neighbors, the SingleCut Brewery. These events are a lot of fun and we are the chosen charity and we appreciate that very much. In turn, we volunteer on the race course and assist in a variety of ways the day of the race.

This event is a terrific fund raiser for us and here's a link if you'd like to make a donation to Helping Hands School.
https://runsignup.com/Race/Donate/NY/CliftonPark/Singlecut5k

If you are running on our team or just want to say “hi”, we’ll have an EZ up set up at Yankee Distillers. Runners should plan to meet there at about 9:00.

After the race, we’ll be drawing winners for our awesome themed baskets. Be in it to win it, but you won't need to be present on race day. If you're not there, we'll give you a call if you won.

We are looking forward to Race Day fun! Fingers crossed for some sunshine.
